If you missed Lori this past week at the office- it’s because she just wrapped up a powerful week at the FBI Crisis Negotiation Course — and is proud to be officially certified.

Even more impactful? She was honored to present on Veterans and PTSD in crisis response, sharing real-world insights from her years serving both in uniform and as a clinician.

🙏 Huge thank you to the New York State Police for the opportunity to train and collaborate with such a dedicated team.

Lori is back in the office, bringing sharpened skills and deeper perspective to every session — especially with the first responders, veterans, and families we’re proud to support.

📢 Supporting First Responders’ Mental Health – A Month of Growth & Connection 🚔🚒

This past month has been a whirlwind of learning, connecting, and advocating for the mental health of those who serve our communities every day. I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Fraternal Order of Police Health & Wellness Conference in Tennessee, where experts, officers, and clinicians came together to discuss the evolving needs of first responders. The conversations about trauma, stress management, and proactive wellness were both inspiring and necessary.

Following that, I had the privilege of participating in our local Firefighter Health & Wellness Symposium, where the focus was on the unique mental health challenges faced by firefighters. From navigating cumulative stress to fostering peer support, it was powerful to see so many dedicated professionals committed to improving mental well-being in the fire service.

These events reaffirmed my passion for providing tailored mental health care to first responders and their families. At You Fit Counseling LCSW, PLLC, we understand the weight of the job and the resilience it requires—but also the importance of seeking support when needed.
