Yesterday, an unexpected explosion at a nearby senior living building shook the Youngstown community, and our team didn’t hesitate to act.
Within minutes, multiple members of our staff stepped up. Our weekend management nurses, Business Office Assistant, and Dietary Manager immediately headed to the scene. Back on campus, our Independent Living Director and three Maintenance team members worked alongside leadership to prepare apartments for seven displaced Independent Living residents and four individuals needing Skilled Nursing care.
Behind the scenes, Cassie from Central Intake and Kelly from Admissions & Social Services worked tirelessly to ensure every detail, from payers to background checks, was completed so transitions could happen swiftly and safely.
More than a dozen team members put in 12–15 hours to make sure these residents had a safe place to go. The ombudsman even shared how impressed they were that we arrived to help before they could even call us.
We’ve been here for Youngstown before, and we’ll be here again.
