We are happy to inform you that our office will be open as of June 1st, 2020!

Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice, and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association(ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up to date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:
• Our office will communicate with your beforehand to ask some screening questions. You will be asked those same questions again when you are in office.
• Your temperature will be checked upon entering the office building.
• We ask that you come into the office alone, if necessary one caregiver or family member may accompany. Upon arrival, the patient must call to inform receptionist they are here for further instructions.
• We ask that everyone who enter the office to wear a face covering or mask.
• Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling appointment.
• We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any given time.

We can't wait to see you at the office again. Doctors and staff are preparing new protocols for the new era of dentistry, to give you the best and safest dental care that you deserve. For now, we are closely following the news and preparing to adhere to the CDC latest guidelines when it is ok for us to reopen. Due to the recent extension of the statewide lockdown, our office will now remain closed till April 30th and will reopen once it is safe/legal. If you are experiencing a dental emergency, please feel free to call Dr. Munshey at 734-383-2485.

A message to all the patients:
We care about your dental health but, unfortunately due to COVID -19 we are unable to render treatment and maintenance services.

Here are some tips to do home maintenance while we are all waiting for life to go back to normal.

For patients on regular 6 months maintenance protocol:
1.Make sure you are brushing 2x/day for 2 minutes each time
2.Flossing daily once
3.Use a fluoride or anti cavity mouth wash if you get cavities easily otherwise any mouth rinse is fine
* Reminder: Don’t forget to switch your brush to a new one every 3-4 months.

For patients on perio maintenance (history of periodontal history) protocol:
*If you are a perio maintenance pt then your recall is every 3-4 months
1.Brush your teeth twice daily for 2 minutes each time, electric tooth brush is highly recommended.
2.Flossing once daily, make sure no areas are missed.
3.Use a proxa-brush in deeper pocket or food trap areas. You may have to clean these areas after every meal and rinse your mouth after every meal.
4.Make sure to use mouth rinse daily. If you have a prescription mouth wash that was recommended for you , use that 2-3 x a week.
