If he had a year off with pay, he’d be heading back to his home country. And trading jobs for a day? No thanks—Mamadou is focused on growing and advancing in his current role.

🎉 Team Spotlight: Bev 🎉

Last month, Bev celebrated a huge milestone—15 years with Populist! She has been a steady, trusted part of our team as our Finance Clerk, and we’re so grateful for the care and dedication she brings to her role every day.

Outside of work, Bev values family time and church, and if she ever won a year off with pay, she’d spend it traveling to different countries and vacationing with her family. During the workday, you’ll often find her powered by crackers and peanut butter.

Fun fact: Bev has been married for 48 years, is a proud grandma to five grandkids, and loves cheering on Michigan and the Lions during football season 🏈
And if she could trade jobs with anyone on the team? She wouldn’t—because she truly loves what she does.

46 years ago, Populist Cleaning Co began with a bold leap of faith.

Founded in the 1980s by Dan Eller and John Wagner—two “original cats” with deep faith and unconventional paths—Populist was built not from a business blueprint, but from purpose. What started with a mop, a rag, and a commitment to provide for family has grown into a company now serving its second and third generations.

Our continued growth reflects the strength of that foundation: faith, hard work, and a willingness to take risks. We’re grateful for the legacy passed down to us, the teams who make Populist better every day, and the opportunity to keep building something meaningful together.

Here’s to 46 years of service, perseverance, and pressing forward!
