Meet Phil, our Aria-On Site Manager — and one of the most experienced members of the Aria On-Site team!

When he first started with us 18 years ago, Phil admits he didn’t exactly dream of a future in the window treatments industry. “I don’t think any kid sits around dreaming about getting into window coverings,” he laughs. “When Populist was considering purchasing the business from the previous owner, I had never even heard of such a thing. To me, window coverings were those cheap spring-loaded vinyl roller shades from Kmart (who here remembers Kmart?) that spun wildly if you didn’t hold them just right.”

Fast forward to today, and Phil has developed both the technical and people skills that make our window treatments division thrive — skills he says he never could have imagined even one day before training for the job.

Outside of work, Phil’s greatest passion is spending time with his family. He also enjoys reading, music, and shooting — and says if he ever won a year off with pay, he’d split his time between volunteering locally and relaxing on Mackinac Island.

His go-to fuel for the day? Coffee from his very own French press (“the best coffee in the world,” according to Phil). And for a fun fact — in a past life as a musician, Phil once played in the backup orchestra for The O’Jays!

We’re so grateful for Phil’s 18 years of dedication, leadership, and humor. The Aria team wouldn’t be the same without him!

🌟 Team Member Spotlight: Deanna! 🌟

Deanna has been part of the Populist team for just over three months, and she’s already making an impact with her attention to detail and caring spirit. Outside of work, she keeps a family tradition alive by hosting Sunday dinners — a time to set everything aside and just enjoy being together. 💛

When asked what she’d do with a year off, she said she’d help families in her community get kids to school and parents to work — a true reflection of her giving nature.
