Pregnant and expectant parents residing in Orange County, California...I am specifically talking to you! I am Jemilla Renee, owner of MariMama Doula Services and tomorrow at 6:30 p.m Pacific Standard Time; I will be speaking on Postpartum Doula Support. Angela Brown, a.k.a OG in OC and owner of DoulaLove’sCreation and myself have been co-facilitating FREE pregnancy and postpartum workshops in partnership with the University of California, Irvine's Maternal Health Equity Project and Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing. OG and I have been very intentional with disclosing that these FREE workshops only provide brief overviews of how doula support services can optimize your perinatal experiences. On 5.18, I had the pleasure to assist the Hodges in welcoming their first born baby girl! The look on their faces says it all....they're in LOVE! Mama superceded her intenion and made it to 5 cm dialated with the use of pitocin. My role is to support families in their birth intentions. We are ALL learning when to be flexible while also challenging ourselves to grow.

It was such a blessing to assist you all on your journey into parenthood...one of the most rewarding yet ghetto hoods of them all!

CalOptima Health in collaboration with Birth Initiative for Reproductive Rights Transforming and Healing Womxn of Color (BIRRTH Womxn OC) are ecstatic to present a Doula Day in Orange County!

We are elated to share that Frontline Doulas will be providing their Community Doula Champions Training during our Doula Day.

Our intentions for this event is to provide doulas in Orange County and/or who are willing to serve OC with comprehensive information on the requirements and processes of becoming a Medi-Cal Doula Provider. We innerstand the importance of support needed for doulas to successfully contract with managed care plans and their delegated health networks, establish rapport and build community while creating a sustainable doula workforce.

We are extremely excited to curate this event and create spaces for doulas to THRIVE.

I am Jemilla White, Holistic Synergist, CBD, CPD, Owner of MariMama Doula Services, Co-creater of BIRRTH WOMXN OC Community-based Doula Program and Director, Doula Programming and Affairs.

My partner, Nikkia Patterson, RN, MCPCD, Owner of theindiwomensclub and I are co-hosting an inaugural Higher Healing Doula Retreat in Sacramento, California. Our intentions for this retreat are as follows:

1. (I)nform BIPOC Doulas on the Holistic methodologies and benefits of implementing mindful practices in efforts to help birthworkers better decompress and promote personal wellness

2. (D)iscuss efforts on how to better educate and support clients by utilizing integrative medicine to help address pain management, provide mental health support and uplift social and spiritual wellness.

3. (C)elebrate BIPOC Birth Workers

*I.D.C* - I. Don't. Care. We are releasing societal stigmas as we continue to progress and reclaim our birthrights. This retreat is dedicated to uplifting doulas/birth workers and is open to professionals who work in the maternal health sector i.e doctors, lactation consultants, pediatricians, obstetricians, midwives, maternal health advocates etc.

We are currently offering a two tier ticket sale for those that are Cannacurious ($85) or those that are Cannaconnoisseurs ($185). Let's learn how to better support one another and the community we serve.
