This weekend brought forth a very special day. Camden Special Steps hosted their 5th annual Special Steps 5k. Special Steps is an organization that provides a non-profit program for local adults with exceptional needs. The folks that hosted the event and the Special Steppers were some of the best most caring and amazing people. I personally made a friend with Anthony. He had a small rough patch, but I got him breathing right and he took off. Landed 1st in age group for him. It was truly an amazing experience.

Reaching out in your community and connecting with the small local organizations is key to building the better place to grow. Being able to help each other is what makes the bond stay together. In the end community is key to a better way of life.

Special thanks to Camden Run & Chug who I teamed up with and they came in as the biggest team for another year. Game Changers Running Company Amelia Island for the big winner prizes and they also donated a fresh pair of Goodr sunglasses to all the Special Steppers to keep their style fresh as they crush their journey in life.

What's up doc? I'll tell you what. On brought the Easter surprises to Game Changers Running Company Amelia Island for our Tuesday group meet. Raffles, shoes and lots of fun. I floated in the new Cloudmonster 3. Nice high stack nylon plated trainer. Great for all the daily work a person could need. Afterwards we had us a little Easter egg hunt to find all the goodies to celebrate a fun run together ⚛️🐰

One thing that Shannon and I feel so strongly about is taking something that we love (movement and running) and connecting it with the community. We had the fortunate experience of participating in the Clarke Ice Cream Run 🍦Which, if anyone is unfamiliar, is supporting Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech

Clarke Schools offer phenomenal services to its community members like birth to age three programs, preschool/early elementary programs, support groups, trainings and workshops, auditory, speech and language services, summer services and so much more. And this is why we cannot say enough times that this run was more than just that; it was supporting and recognizing that we have dedicated and professional community members that are providing services to a very important demographic of children and families.

It is for this reason we do what we do. The medals are fun, but the cause is so much greater and we could not think of a better way to show up, cheer on, and support, what appears to be, a school of excellence.

Thank you Clarke Schools for hosting the event; we were honored to be a part of the experience and share so many joyful moments with some of your incredible families, students, and community members!🍦🏃⚛🏃‍♀️

Tails of the Trail 3rd annual Red Dress Run was a success. This is a small local run that we have been a part of from the start. Supporting and raising money for the puppies and to help support a great cause. The Red Dress Run takes some fun from Hash House Harriers and we had ourselves a good ol fashion Hound and Hare chase. With Atomic Choice getting the honors of being the Hound and Hare. This fun run is exactly that. A ton of fun with the local community and all for a great cause on a great day.

Big thanks to all supporters and donors. Thanks to Game Changers Running Company Amelia Island for sponsoring the winning kicks to the top male and female. Look out next year and maybe come to Fernandina for a fun unique run. 🏃⚛🏃🏿‍♀️

Intimidation.

While at the Shamrock Shuffle I learned something just by having the pleasure of running with some familiar faces. When asked what they felt was the leading reason as to why people would not want to join a run group they said, intimidation. They were intimidated by the feeling that they would not be able to run; not be able to participate, or they would look a fool amongst others. At the core, the overwhelming response was that most felt they would not be good enough.

Here's what Atomic Choice wants our community members to understand, there is absolutely no judgment. Our mission is to bring people together that have a common goal: taking those small steps to becoming a better and healthier version of yourself. So it is less about the question of not being good enough and more about the decision that will ultimately serve you better because let's face it, when you prioritize yourself, you are committing to a lasting change that supports you physically and mentally.

So when we say things like, "come out and join us." We truly mean we would love to support you, cheer you on, and remind you that you are worth it. No intimidation there, just 100 percent belief that you are worth it and deserve to have some cheerleaders along the way. It all starts with one small but impactful choice.

Shake your Shamrocks ☘ It was a great day in Georgia thanks to MWR Kings Bay and the 2026 Shamrock Shuffle 5k. Today was a little different as Shannon was little under the weather. Had a blast today going total party pace and hanging back to chat and talk to all our friends. Not all races have to be about getting the fastest times. Sometimes it is great to just have a good time and be there to help support those in your community that are out there giving it their all too.

Gate River Run 15k 2026 is in the books. The largest 15k in the states and we get the privilege to run it each year. Every year it gets better with the community. Being reminded time and again all the amazing people we have surrounded ourselves with. We could not go a mile without taps on the shoulder, high fives, shout outs, and just pure awesomeness surrounding us from all the amazing people that have helped Atomic Choice become a reality. We went wild at the Wildlight Living 2026 Run Wild 5k/10k. We cannot believe the turn out this year; what started out as a couple hundred people a few years ago to over 1,000 participants shows that the running community is stronger than ever! We loved being surrounded by friends, new faces, and our community. Atomic Choice wants to help continue to build our running community and so please be on the lookout as we are ramping up to offer our first beginner 5k program.
