🕯️Losing someone to su***de creates a kind of silence that words can never fully fill. 💜
It leaves a space in our hearts where questions sit… questions with no clear answers. It leaves memories that are both precious and painful. And it leaves a weight that many people around us may never truly understand.
The truth is, grief after su***de is different.
It comes with shock, confusion, guilt, anger, love, and longing—sometimes all in the same breath.
It can affect our minds, our sleep, our bodies. It can show up as stress, depression, anxiety, or lingering trauma. And yet, we carry it quietly, because the world often doesn’t know how to hold this kind of pain.
But today, we pause to acknowledge you—the survivors.
Those who are learning to breathe again.
Those who loved deeply and lost deeply.
Those who are trying to make sense of something that will never be simple.
Those who carry stories, memories, and moments that still matter.
You are not alone.
Your grief is valid.
Your healing is not a straight line.
And your love for the one you lost continues to speak loudly—even in the silence.
On this International Survivors of Su***de Loss Day, may we stand together with compassion.
May we honour the lives we lost.
May we honour the strength it takes to keep going.
And may we remind one another that healing is possible, even when the journey feels heavy.
To everyone grieving today:
We see you.
We hold space for you.
And you are not walking this path alone. 💜🕊️
