April 2026 recap

I continue to practice this regularly, even still. Personally, life is speeding up again as I take on new ventures, so I am being invited into an even broader bandwidth in my nervous system.

Long exhales and checking my perceived sense of urgency has been the wormhole through chaotic mornings. I want my children to be mirroring my relaxed nervous system, not one based on a false sense of urgency. It is a lifelong practice, and I’m here for it.

Celebrating 14 years this week as Chiropractors! I am very grateful that this profession brought me and my husband together. Life is rich. I love this profession and the Life that it offers for me, my family and my community.

I’ve been under chiropractic and B.E.S.T. care since I was three months old.

It all started when my mom’s back “went out” while picking me up in my car seat. My dad suggested chiropractic care, and he found a female chiropractor in the yellow pages, Dr. Sue Morter, in Speedway, Indiana.

That single choice changed everything. Dr. Morter became our family chiropractor… and later, my mentor.

We grew up seeing chiropractic as a way of life, not just for pain but for wellness, energy, and balance. My mom was adjusted through her last two pregnancies. My 4 sisters and I were all adjusted from young (yes, including as newborns).

We went to the chiropractor for everything: immune support, recovery, grounding our nervous systems through every season of life.

Years later, when I entered chiropractic school, my whole body felt at home.

Now, I get to bring that same healing philosophy into my own practice, blending B.E.S.T. and chiropractic care to help others remember what their bodies already know: how to heal themselves. 💜🌿

🤍Mom stayed with us for the month. So that meant our dishes were done, fresh fruit creatures for the kiddos, house projects were completed, homemade broth, cookies and elderberry syrup, and tea parties!

🎾⚽️Sport!! Lots of tennis and soccer. Coach Dr. Dada is well loved and respected on the soccer field.

📚 I started reading “The Inner Game of Tennis.” taking so so many notes. Whether you play tennis or not, this book is a solid read for the power of mind and how to cultivate a detached non-judgemental interest about life.
(Pro tip: highly recommend to read while on a sailboat lol)

I’m not high intensity all the time. And honestly… most women shouldn’t be. I train with intensity only when my nervous system can actually support it.

That means:
✔️ certain phases of my cycle (hello follicular/ovulatory phase) No period? Watch the moon 🌙
✔️ when my heart rate variability (HRV) shows I’ve recovered
✔️ when I feel the bandwidth internally

‼️Because here’s the part most people miss. Your results aren’t built in the push… 👏🏽they’re built in how well your nervous system can recover and recalibrate.👏🏽

I naturally run more sympathetic dominant (fight/flight)
with a high autonomic reserve.

So yes, I can push hard. And if I don’t intentionally balance that with:
→ rest
→ nourishment (130g protein by 5pm lately 👀)
→ minerals
→ lower intensity days

…I will dysregulate my system.

So my training actually looks like:
🔥 one intense day
🌊 followed by 1–2 days of recovery
❌ No back-to-back burnout cycles.

👩🏻‍⚕️And this is exactly what I track in my clinical work…
using the Insight nervous system scans to see:
Are you in fight/flight… or rest/digest? What kind of bandwidth do you actually have in your nervous system? Is this a season of recovery or a season of getting after it? These tests can tell you objectively!

Because guessing isn’t the same as knowing.

Present moment tie-in:
This week?
Follicular phase.
Waxing moon.
High energy.
Court session went OFF. 🔥🤌🏽🤌🏽
