Wheelmap.org could help open doors and bring about change.
This is an online, worldwide map for finding and marking wheelchair accessible places, developed by the German nonprofit organisation Sozialhelden e.V. Anyone can find and add public places to the map and rate them according to a simple traffic light system. The map, which is based on OpenStreetMap, was created in 2010 by a team around social enterpreneur Raul Krauthausen to help people who use wheelchairs or wheeled walkers to plan their days more easily. Parents pushing a baby carriage can also benefit from the Wheelmap information. Currently almost 600,000 public places worldwide can be found on the map. About 300 new places are added on a daily basis. Wheelmap is available on the website and as an app for iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

Anyone, including entrepreneurs, can add easily their own business, e.g. restaurant, bar, organization or fashion store to provide information on how accessible the premises are. So that wheelchair users and other people's with different needs know it is possible to enter and to be welcome. 😁 https://wheelmap.org/search
Wilde Hilde believe that by actively shaping inclusive social structures, every single citizen improves his own participation, acceptance, appreciation and thus his quality of life, both in old age, in the event of illness or impairment, and without need for support. A form of society based on inclusion offers the advantage that every person is respected, recognized, valued and promoted in their being and that being there for one another is not based on compassion and volunteering, but arises from a personal sense of community and need for solidarity and appreciation. The dismantling of spatial and cognitive barriers, which is of fundamental importance for an inclusive way of life, benefits society as a whole, as it creates a basic attitude that includes everyone and excludes no one.
In the Future Wilde Hilde will organize a “MapMyDay” is the for mapping event which new places are marked on Wheelmap. Together with others visit places like cafes, supermarkts, theatre, museums to check access. So we are able to give a contibute to make the world more accessible.
Everybody can move the process forward and is welcome to be a part to bring changes. Shaping the cultural life inclusive in Hanoi to meet people with disabilities in the middle of society. 🤝
