Want Bigger but Natural – The Risks of Oversized Implants
During the consultation, the patient clearly expressed her goal: she wanted larger, fuller breasts, but still natural-looking.
The surgeon presented two options with different implant sizes (around 270–300cc) and explained the differences in implant profiles. However, the patient hesitated due to a common mindset:
👉 “If I’m doing it, it has to be big.”
👉 Many online cases seem to choose larger sizes
At this point, the surgeon emphasized an important clinical reality:
– Many patients who choose large implants do not achieve the desired outcome
– A significant number eventually return for revision surgery to downsize
– Approximately one-third of revision cases are related to oversized implants or their complications
Based on clinical experience, the surgeon explained:
👉 Bigger does not mean better
👉 If the implant exceeds the limits of the breast tissue and pocket, it can lead to unnatural results, instability, and a higher risk of complications
