“Today is my 89th birthday.
My name is Joseph, and I am sitting here, in a retirement home, with a plate of dumplings in front of me. I don't know who made these for me, nor who will wish me a happy birthday today. I have three kids but haven't seen them in a long time. They brought me here telling me it was for my own good, but time goes by, and the phone does not ring.
I am not angry, I am sad.
Sad because, deep in my heart, I never stopped loving them, despite their absence. Sad because I don’t ask for much: just a hug, a word, a “Happy Birthday, Dad. ”
I just wish somebody would remember me today.
If you’re reading this message, give me a thought. Not because you know me, but because even a stranger can bring some warmth where there is silence.
At my age, you live on memories and hope.
And today, my hope is that this message gets to the hearts of those who have forgotten to value affection, before it is too late. ”
❤️ To all the dads and grandfathers that have been left alone, best wishes. You are loved, even if sometimes they don't tell you. ❤️

SOME LESSONS ON FINANCES: 🚢 ⚓️

1. Must have EMERGENCY FUND - enough for 6 months of expenses/current lifestyle.

2. SAVE MONEY and MONEY WILL SAVE YOU. Don’t save what is left after spending. Only spend what is left after saving.

3. Best to have ZERO DEBT, if you can’t pay cash, you CAN’T AFFORD it, nothing beats PEACE OF MIND.

4. Avoid unnecessary spendings, forget sale price, everything is 100% off when you don’t buy it. Don’t waste your money on things that you don’t need, even if they are cheap. EVERY PESO COUNTS!

5. Learn to BUDGET - it is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went!

6. If we buy things that we don’t need, we will have to SELL THINGS THAT WE NEED.

7. PRETENDING TO BE RICH can make us poor. Must learn to live BELOW MEANS. Don’t go broke trying to look rich. ACT YOUR WAGE.

8. MONEY IS NOT EVERYTHING, but we cannot deny the fact that we NEED money for our FAMILY.

9. Always have a BACK-UP PLAN for life's uncertainties. Start having your personal LIFE INSURANCE with INVESTMENT.

10. Let's break the TOXIC FAMILY CULTURE about FINANCES. Your children is not your retirement fund, and your parents is not your emergency fund.

Don't leave anything for later.
Later, the coffee gets cold.
Later, you lose interest.
Later, the day turns into night.
Later, people grow up.
Later, people grow old.
Later, life goes by.
Later, you regret not doing something...
When you had the chance.

Life is a fleeting dance, a delicate balance of moments that unfold before us, never to return in quite the same way again.
Regret is a bitter pill to swallow, a weight that bears down upon the soul with the burden of missed chances and unspoken words.
So, let us not leave anything for later. Let us seize the moments as they come, with hearts open and arms outstretched to embrace the possibilities that lie before us. For in the end, it is not the things we did that we regret, but the things we left undone, the words left unspoken, the dreams left unfulfilled.

“END THE TOXIC FAMILY CYCLE

If you come from a family of drunkards, let that cycle end with you. Let drunkeness never pass through you to the next generation.

If you come from a family of drop outs, no one gets to finish school or go to University; end that cycle and reach the highest level in study, prove that even your family tree can produce an intellectual.

If your relative's marriages never last, your parent's marriage was a disappointment; end that cycle, when you get married have a marriage built to last.

If you are a man and your father used to beat up your mother; end that cycle, be the opposite of your dad and love your wife like a real man should.

If you come from a tribal family where decisions are made through tribal lenses; end the cycle, show your family that love knows no tribe.

If the family you come from has been living in poverty; end that cycle, make money, lift your family to wealth.

If members of your family are largely known for mediocrity or shameful acts; end that cycle, be excellent and successful, bring pride to your family name.

If people from your family are known to be mean, cold and tempered; end that cycle, work on being friendly, warm and approachable.

If your family has been involved in witchcraft, su***de, curses and ungodliness; end that cycle, introduce God in your family tree, declare that as for me and my house we will serve the Lord!

You don't have to carry forward the shortcomings in your family down the lineage to the next generation. Love your family but learn from their mistakes. You don't have a say in determining the family you are born in to, but you can determine who you become and the kind of future and family you will have. Your decisions affect generations to come”

7 lessons from 21 Great Leaders: Learn Their Lessons, Improve Your Influence by Pat Williams and Jim Denney:

1. Leadership is Multifaceted: Great leaders aren't defined by a single quality. The book explores seven sides of leadership according to the authors: Vision, Communication, People Skills, Character, Competence, Boldness, and Serving Heart. Developing each of these aspects is crucial for effective leadership.

2. Learn from Diverse Leaders: The book features a wide range of historical and contemporary figures, from George Washington and Billy Graham to Walt Disney and Margaret Thatcher. By studying leaders from various backgrounds and disciplines, you can glean valuable insights applicable to different leadership contexts.

3. Vision is the Foundation: Great leaders have a clear vision for the future, a compelling picture of what they want to achieve. 21 Great Leaders emphasizes the importance of articulating a shared vision that inspires and motivates others to follow.

4. Communication is Key: Effective leaders can communicate their vision clearly and persuasively. The book highlights the importance of tailoring communication styles to different audiences and fostering open and honest dialogue.

5. People Skills Matter: Great leaders understand and value their people. The book emphasizes building trust, fostering collaboration, and empowering team members to contribute their best work.

6. Character is Paramount: Leadership is not just about competence; it's about integrity and moral compass. 21 Great Leaders highlights the importance of strong character traits like honesty, fairness, and resilience, which earn the respect and trust of followers.

7. Leadership is Service: Great leaders serve a purpose greater than themselves. The book emphasizes serving the needs of their followers, the organization, and potentially a larger cause. This service orientation fosters a sense of purpose and motivation within the team.

I used to think that you're the right person for me until you gave me so many reasons why I shouldn't love you anymore. I used to think that you would take care of my heart and treat me well, but then you hurt me repeatedly and you don't even care about what I feel. I used to think that you would love me right because you know exactly how much I've been hurt before, but then you hurt me too and became like the ones who tortured my soul. You broke my heart bit by bit, and I was left wondering why you did this to me.

I decided to leave. Not because I don't love you anymore, but because I'm tired of begging you to treat me better. I'm tired of forcing you to love me back and I'm so tired of feeling alone in your arms. I know that you're not the one. Because you are not even afraid to lose me. You don't even care if I walk away from you. You just smiled when I said goodbye. You didn't even try to make me stay. I didn't even see sadness in your eyes when I said that I'm letting you go. Maybe you just waited for me to give up on you. And maybe, you waited for it for so long.
