Evans Scholars & Evans Legacy – A Heritage from Knowledge to Global Leadership
Founded in 1930, the Evans Scholars Foundation was established by golf legend Chick Evans with a mission to provide college scholarships to caddies—young individuals from humble backgrounds with remarkable determination. Over nearly a century, more than 12,000 scholars have been empowered to study at prestigious institutions such as Northwestern, Michigan, and Notre Dame, many of whom have gone on to become leaders, professionals, and changemakers in their communities.

Established in 2002, the Evans Legacy Group represents a strategic evolution—honoring the spirit of the Evans Scholars while expanding the vision to a global scale. From a scholarship program, Evans Legacy has grown into a leadership development platform—connecting minds, building a worldwide network, and nurturing legacy-makers for the 21st century.

Evans is more than a scholarship—it is a mission to empower the next generation through education, legacy, and a community of devoted mentors lighting the path forward.

Liu Chang – Chairwoman of New Hope Liuhe and Her Inspiring Journey of Legacy and Leadership

Born in 1980, Liu Chang entered the world with a unique role: the daughter of billionaire entrepreneur Liu Yonghao, founder of New Hope Group—China’s leading private agricultural conglomerate. From an early age, she was given opportunities by her father to grow and develop her own path. Liu Chang was sent to the United States for high school and later earned an Executive MBA from Peking University.

In 2010, while pursuing her EMBA, she was honored to receive the Evans Legacy Scholarship—an esteemed award granted to emerging young leaders. This milestone introduced her to modern management thinking and a global network, planting the seeds for the bold ambitions that would shape her career.

[...]

“We have a responsibility to continue the story of those who came before us, but at the same time, we must forge our own path with confidence, knowledge, and gratitude.” This is the message Liu Chang shares with future leaders. Her journey is a powerful reminder that with the right support in education and unwavering belief, young people can achieve greatness. And it is dedicated pioneers like Liu Chang who quietly light the torch, passing on hope and strength to the next generation, empowering them to shine.

Dr. Jonathan Miles Evans
Chairman of Evans Legacy Group – Global Honor and Heritage

As the third-generation descendant of the Evans family – founders of the Evans Caddie Scholarship in 1930 – Dr. Jonathan Miles Evans has not only continued his family’s legacy, but redefined global educational philanthropy by founding Evans Legacy Group in 2002.

Holding a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Cambridge and a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School, he has taught at five of the world’s top universities and coordinated global scholar networks under UNESCO. He also served on the strategic advisory board at the World Economic Forum from 2015 to 2023.

Since 2002, Evans Legacy has awarded over 4,500 fellowships, establishing a global network of more than 1,200 founders, senior executives, and policy leaders across 42 countries.

For the 2025–2035 cycle, he has set his sights on Southeast Asia – a region he identifies as “the emerging center of middle-class leadership potential, underserved by legacy-building opportunities.”

“We are not searching for the best in grades – we are searching for those with honor and vision, who need a network to stand tall and build legacies of their own.”
– Dr. Jonathan Miles Evans

🌏 Why Did Evans Legacy Choose Southeast Asia for the 2025–2035 Decade?
Because we see a generation of leaders waiting to rise.

Over the next decade, Southeast Asia will become a global center of transformation—not only in economic terms, but in human potential. A new middle class is emerging: well-educated, ambitious, and capable—but often lacking access to elite networks or pathways to power.

🎓 The Evans Fellowship was created to solve that exact gap.

This is not a traditional scholarship. The Evans Fellowship is for individuals who have the means to study, who inherit the spirit of family honor, and who are ready to build real influence—but who may not have the legacy connections or the starting position that opens global doors.

This fellowship is not just financial support.
We offer connection, credibility, and influence—a curated global network of mentors, investors, policy leaders, and scholars committed to uplifting the next generation of builders.

🔹 Why Southeast Asia?
Not out of charity—but out of conviction:
We believe future powerhouses of leadership can emerge anywhere—if given the right environment and guidance from those who’ve walked the path before.

EVANS LEGACY GROUP

Some are born into privilege, yet lack direction.
Some can afford a diploma, but cannot build true influence.

Evans Legacy – Because family honor is the foundation of every enduring legacy.

📘 EVANS LEGACY GROUP

🔹 A Legacy Rooted in 1930

Originating from the prestigious Evans Scholars Foundation established in 1930 in the United States, Evans Legacy Group was founded in 2002 as a strategic evolution—with a mission that goes beyond traditional scholarship programs.

The original Evans Caddie initiative supported over 12,000 students from working-class backgrounds, helping them attend top-tier universities like Northwestern, Michigan, and Notre Dame. Many of these scholars went on to become business leaders, financial experts, and founders of educational institutions—laying the philosophical groundwork for the birth of Evans Legacy Group.

🔹 Evans Legacy – Not a scholarship, but an inherited power network

Evans Legacy Group does not measure success by grades or academic records. We focus on cultivating a new generation of global leaders—where financial capital, family heritage, and global connectivity become the tools to forge lasting influence.

We do not select the top students.
We choose individuals who can transform knowledge, wealth, and relationships into real-world impact.

Evans Legacy is designed for:

Families with financial capacity but lacking a global ecosystem

Individuals aged 17–28 with leadership potential and the ability to build influential networks

Those who believe the future does not belong to the highest scorer—but to those who can turn wealth and connection into global influence
