We join others in remembering Joel Toa with deep respect and gratitude, honoring a life dedicated to service and impact.

He was a committed visionary leader whose passion and leadership contributed immensely to the skills sector and inspired many Niโ€‘Vanuatu men and women.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this sad time.

Rest in peace, Sir ๐Ÿ™

Our continuous partnership with the Department of Water Resources-Vanuatu to support Tafea WASH technicians for provincial development..

๐Ÿ’ง DWSSP WASH TECHNICIANS TOT REFRESHER TRAINING๐Ÿ’ง

A Drinking Water Safety and Security Plan (DWSSP) TOT refresher training was recently delivered to TAFEA WASH Technicians, strengthening their capacity to safeguard community water systems. The training was funded by the Vanuatu Skills Partnership and facilitated by the Department of Water Resources (DoWR).

These dedicated WASH technicians are graduates of Certificate II in Plumbing, completed in July 2025โ€”the highest plumbing qualification currently available in Vanuatu. The refresher training reinforced their technical skills and practical knowledge to ensure drinking water systems remain safe, secure, and resilient for communities across TAFEA.

In addition, while graduating in July 2025, emerging leaders among the graduates were identified and supported to establish their own local businesses, enabling them to actively use their qualifications, provide professional services, and create sustainable livelihoods while supporting community water needs.

๐Ÿ‘ A strong step forward in empowering local skills, strengthening service delivery, and ensuring safe water for all.

It is a pleasure to support the Sanma Provincial Government and government departments in Luganville and across Sanma Province to understand the importance of strategic communicationsโ€”align messaging, shift mindsets, and effectively utilise communications to drive provincial developmentโ€”facilitated through the Ministry of Education and Trainingโ€™s Sanma Skills Centre.๐Ÿ™Œ
Sanma Provincial Government Council

Today it was a great opportunity for government align agencies that Vanuatu Skills Partnership delivers a Strategic Communication Consultation program for Sanma Provincial, engaging key stakeholders to strengthen collaboration, align messaging, and enhance effective communication for sustainable development.

We are proud to see Nok Construction growing as a sustainable independent business!๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฑ

The locally owned business has secured a major contract from the World Health Organization (WHO) in Vanuatu to renovate the Fanafo Health Centre and Malao dispensary, boosting essential health services for rural communities in Santo. The contract is their first-ever international contract won through a competitive tender process, valued at over VT25 million.๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿค

Nokโ€™s formation was facilitated through the Ministry of Education and Trainingโ€™s Sanma Skills Centre, with support from the Australian Government. The Skills Centre provides access to training in high-demand skill ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ areas and also coaching in business start-up and growth. ๐Ÿ‘ทโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Through this support, Nok is now a sustainable business standing proudly on its own, employing both men and women builders. Its success shows how skilled local talent is driving service delivery at the provincial level and in line with the Governmentโ€™s decentralisation agenda.โœŠ๐Ÿ‘
