It's been a tough journey for Adonai'Yah A. TAKIFU
Since the passing away of her beloved dad late John Enock Ware Takifu on the 12th of June 2021, she has struggled with her studies.
That year she was in year 8 at Peter Pan Grammar School.
After that she heard her daddy's relatives talking bad about her mother and saying that they will take her and her siblings away from their mother and share them between them (relatives) and leaving her mother alone.
she was broken from the inside
She couldn't focus on her studies anymore.
After that one night she and her siblings and mother stayed at home and heard one of her daddy's relative climbing the yard gate and jumped in, they were very frightened.
On that same night, they heard 2 ladies (relatives) breaking the gate lock and got inside the yard.
Adonai'yah and her siblings and mother were very frightened and left their home that night and went to sleep in the shop they rented to a family.
The next day when they went back home, they couldn't enter the yard as the previous night's intruders changed the lock of the gate.
Stories reached families and friends as Adonai'yah and her siblings couldn't go to school anymore because they were very frightened.
After that the owner of the building they use as shop asked them to vacate the area so that a new person could get in. Her daddy's friend took them to his place so that they can stay away from the situation they lived in.
After that, the 2 ladies who broke the gate lock heard that Adonai'yah and her siblings and mother no longer lived in the shop and learning where they had moved to, one of them
(2 ladies )got a key and brought it them.
The children and mother were very happy thinking that they were now going back to their residence and they would go back to school.
One morning when Adonai'yah and her older sister went to their residence with that key to do some cleaning up before they moved back to their house, they found out that the lady was just playing with them.
The key she gave them didn't fit in the lock.
On that time, All the hopes were gone .
Adonai'yah stayed at home with her siblings and couldn't make it to school anymore.
They just prayed and asked God to provide them a way... And a miracle happened..
The former principal of Peter Pan Grammar School late Mrs Kalo called Adonai'yah 's mum and told her that she has arranged for Adonai'yah to sit her end of year 8 exams at the Shefa Education Office early as possible before the Marking took place the following week.
The results came back and Adonai'yah made it to year 9 at Malapoa College on 2022.
That year she tried her best but couldn't make it till the end of year as her little brother who has rehumatoid heart disease got sick and she stayed at home to help her mother and older sister to look after her little brother.
At the end of 2022 she called her classmate just to check on her and learned that she has been admitted to year 10 .
In the beginning of 2023, she returned to school and continued with her studies till July but couldn't make it anymore after that she lived in an environment where girls education is not important.
That one man could tell something like " you're wasting your time" " you won't finish your studies" " girls are useless, after their education they will go and help other people" " you won't finish your studies ... " He would tell Adonai'yah's mum that Adonai'yah will come back home not with a certificate but with a 25kg bag of rice.
Adonai'yah and mother and siblings would feel all the pain but Adonai'yah continued to testify what the Lord had done for her and her little family.
Somewhere in the first quarter of 2023, she sitted an exam provided by Fiji LDS College and that was her only hope to go back to school.
Despite all these discouraging and painful words she and her family could received her mother would always encourage her and her siblings to think positive and believe in themselves. Her mother would always told them to think about what God says about them.
Her mother would always say that
" if someone tells you that you are like this and that, ask yourself if this is what the Lord says about " if not, just shake your body, let go and be happy😊
By the end of year 2023, the results of the exams came back with an Acceptance Letter from the Fiji LDS COLLEGE.
Adonai'yah Amanda TAKIU is now studying there.

All the Praises and Glory be to Almighty God who is the Way Maker and the Source of our Lives.

A very special thank you to the leaders, friends and families who had contributed in the process.
