Lapita Café

Lapita Café Welcome to Lapita! We saw a need for value added food products made from local island ingredients.

Our business/ Lapita champions in utilising Vanuatu local foods in its processed foods by purchasing fresh ingredients from rural farmers and cooking these delicious snacks and wild nuts in its boutique kitchen for health conscious consumers. We are passionate about our venture, a boutique family-owned business in Vanuatu that started our as a casual eatry specialising in local food in 1999. In the course of running Lapita (which caught the attention of travel guide book and also Lapita contributed to the Me'akai: The Food and Flavours of the South Pacific's Cook Book which won the "World's Best Cook Book for 2010). Today, our bustling kitchen is doing just that- finding new uses for traditional ni Vanuatu produce and in turn, fostering a positive economic change. Purchasing a product from Lapita contributes to Vanuatu's grass roots farmers and communities.

In case you haven’t heard, our Operations Manager, Kevin G. Mackenzie-Reur is in Austria 🇦🇹 alongside Ms Norah Ala from V-Lab. 😍

You wonder why? They are representing Vanuatu 🇻🇺 in the global pitching of the Climate Launchpad.
What is Climate Launchpad? It’s an international pitching competition that Lapita Cafe Ltd is participating with 43 other countries around the world. 🤩
What type of product had us participating in this competition? It’s our REEF SAFE SUNSCREEN 🤗 A cosmetic product that was recently developed and produced in our HACCP Certified factory in Santo. ✨
This product is very unique given most of the ingredients used to produce it are locally sourced. Our reef safe sunscreen has 40+ SPF, and not only that but it also nourishes, rejuvenates and heals our skin from the sun rays. It’s friendly for all skin tones and most importantly, it is reef safe. 💯

As we are approaching the hot season, come & grab yourself a Tin to protect your body from the sun rays. 😉
