Understanding Gynaecological Cancer

Gynaecological cancers affect a woman's reproductive organs, including the cervix, ovaries, uterus, va**na, and v***a. Early detection is key to successful treatment. Here’s what you need to know:

Types of Gynaecological Cancers:
• Cervical Cancer: Starts in the cervix (the lower part of the uterus). Often caused by HPV. Regular Pap smears and the HPV vaccine can prevent it.
• Ovarian Cancer: Develops in the ovaries, which produce eggs. It’s hard to detect early, and family history increases the risk.
• Uterine (Endometrial) Cancer: Occurs in the lining of the uterus. Hormonal imbalances, like using estrogen without progesterone, can increase risk.
• Vaginal Cancer: Rare cancer that starts in the va**na. It’s often linked to HPV infection.
• Vulvar Cancer: Affects the outer part of the female ge****ls. HPV infection and age are common risk factors.

What Causes Gynaecological Cancer?
• HPV Infection: HPV causes six types of cancer: cervical, va**nal, v***ar, a**l, throat (oropharyngeal), and pe**le. Vaccination can protect against HPV-related cancers.
• Age: Risk increases as you get older.
• Family History: Having relatives with ovarian or breast cancer increases your risk.
• Lifestyle: Smoking and poor diet can raise cancer risk.
• Hormones: Hormone replacement therapy and some birth control methods can affect your risk.

How to Protect Yourself:
• Get regular check-ups and Pap smears.
• Get the HPV vaccine.
• Know your family history and discuss it with your doctor.

Take charge of your health! Early detection can save lives.

Breast Cancer Awareness: Early Detection Saves Lives

We here at the SDML request you to prioritize early detection of breast cancer. Knowing what the signs are and getting regular check-ups can make all the difference.

Key Signs to Watch For:
• A lump or thickening in the breast or underarm.
• Changes in breast size, shape, or appearance.
• Unexplained pain in the breast or ni**le.
• Ni**le discharge other than breast milk.

Steps for Early Detection:
• Self-Examinations: Regularly check your breasts for any unusual changes.
• Clinical Exams: Get examined by a healthcare professional.
• Mammograms: Schedule regular screenings as recommended.

Early detection increases the chances of successful treatment. Stay vigilant and encourage others to do the same.

Your health is in your hands. Detect early, treat early!
