POP Biotechnologoies is a biotechnology company specialized in the development and commercialization of targeted, nanoparticle based, drug delivery systems and formulations. Our novel platform technology is a unique nanoparticle formulation that releases a payload drug upon near-infrared light activation. This formulation allows for highly targeted delivery of therapeutic agents, maximizing the concentration at the site of interest while allowing for minimal exposure to non-targeted tissues and cells. Additionally, our formulation allows for the administration of hydrophobic drugs intravenously, withstands high temperatures, has robust serum stability, and reseals upon termination of activation light. The unique nature of the photosensitizing component of the particle allows for the formulation to be used as a photo acoustic contrast agent as well as providing increased permeability at the targeted site.
