Downeast EMS is a professional Emergency Medical Services company with three bases located across Washington County, Maine.
Washington County Emergency Medical Services Authority (WCEMSA) was created on January 25, 2001 by the 110th Maine State Legislature. WCEMSA was formed to provide emergency medical services for the Washington County area and surrounding counties after the region’s private company ceased operations in December 2000. WCEMSA is a Quasi Municipal agency non-profit 501(c)(3) and the governing body of Downeast EMS. WCEMSA Board of Directors is comprised of a representative from each town that is in the Downeast EMS coverage area.
