I am Board-qualified in Foot Surgery and in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery. My practice incorporates any pathology below the knee including ankle fractures, Achilles tendon ruptures, foot fractures and reconstructive procedures, as well as in-office procedures including ingrown toenail procedures and wart excision. As a devoted, competitive runner, I have a special interest and special training in the care of athletes. I am more than happy to see any sports-related lower extremity problems, i.e. shin splints, orthopedic management issues, plantar fasciitis, etc. I also have extensive training in pediatric flatfoot surgery and I do enjoy seeing pediatric patients. As the only physician in central Indiana to have completed a 12-month ACFAS-recognized fellowship, I am confident that the training I have acquired has equipped me with the skills necessary to prosper when facing the challenges my career will present.

Got Bunions?

You’re not alone. Did you know that ~25% of adults in the United States suffer from bunions?1

TIME Magazine recently published an article, “What to Do About Your Bunions” that highlights the common bone deformity in the , which often includes debilitating pain for millions of adults in the U.S, including one of our very own patients, April, who suffered from painful bunions on both her feet. When the pain caused by her bunions disrupted her everyday lifestyle, and April started to have trouble handling daily chores on her farm in Missouri, she knew it was time to seek treatment.

“When I went to the pool or the beach and would look at my feet, it was like ‘ugh’,” said April.

Additionally, the article highlights the stigma and misinformation surrounding bunions, the complications the deformity poses as well as ways for individuals to find relief.

This National Foot Health Awareness Month, Treace is to erase the stigma and misinformation surrounding bunions and to expand our support for both patients and clinicians through our awareness and education initiatives.
