Each surgery is an opportunity for transformation and requires total focus and precision. In the surgical center, technique is what guides, but teamwork and respect for the patient are always the highest priorities.

I have the advantage of having a team made up of specialized professionals, many of whom were once my students. Seeing these surgeons who trained alongside me is a source of pride and further reinforces the confidence in our joint work. We know that the knowledge shared over the years makes all the difference in the final result.

Being a professor allows me not only to teach, but also to learn and constantly evolve. This learning cycle is what keeps us always up to date and committed to excellence.

Today we had an important challenge. A patient with breast implants for 8 years and slight discomfort on the right side. The exams showed significant changes in relation to the implant. During surgery, we found complete degradation of the direct implant, a rare occurrence in such a short period of time! The message is that at the slightest sign or symptom in the breasts, seek guidance from a qualified specialist.

Our team today here at the Hospital. Dr Mauro was missing, who was busy. Surgery: breast implant, secondary surgery, on a patient who was very loved by the entire team and who had the patience to wait for the right moment to perform her surgery. Congratulations!!! I won't mention names for obvious reasons.

Rhinoplasty surgery, as with all elective cosmetic surgery, does rely on harmony to achieve optimal and natural results. It is often important to address not just one aspect of the nose to attain the best result. This patient of mine is photographed 6 months following rhinoplasty surgery. Lower eyelid surgery can be performed either using a fine incision under the eyelash line (transcutaneous), or inside of the eyelid (transconjunctival). The benefit of a transcutaneous approach is the ability to tighten the orbicularis oculi muscle around the eye. This muscle becomes loose with age, and contributes to the puffiness of the lower eyelid commonly seen with aging. As the skin on the lower eyelid is less than one millimeter in thickness, it often heals better and any other area on the body. Often, these incisions are not noticeable. This wonderful patient of mine who is in her 40s underwent transcutaneous lower blepharoplasty surgery and fat grafting to her upper cheeks. She has prominent eyes and it was important to tighten her orbicularis oculi muscle to avoid a change in eyelid shape post surgery. Her post surgery photograph is positioned below.
