35 years ago, the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law. This allowed individuals with disabilities unrestricted access to buildings, housing, places of employment and more.

35 years later, we still have plenty of work to do and the best way is to honor those who came before us.

I proudly attended the 10th anniversary at the United Nations during the Clinton Administration.

This is good news! While I don’t think it need to be limited to autism, this will hopefully increase the response to a missing person. We’ve had so many losses of children who have autism that have drowned. Having a unified way to handle these situations will hopefully mitigate the harm to any child or adult with an intellectual disability to include autism.

A new Florida law that will soon take effect aims to help first responders when children with autism are reported missing.
