For nearly 3 years, I've had the privilege to work with some great people and help hundreds of families in the Washington County community. I've learned a great deal and have made life-long friendships. Now it's time to come back home to Meigs County. I've accepted a position outside of the Family Service industry, but I am looking forward to continuing help people and their families prepare for the future and experiencing healing after a loss occurs.
To those I've been able to serve: thank you. The fact that you trusted me with your loved one's memories and arrangements is something that I have never taken for granted. The great folks at East Lawn Memorial Park Evergreen Cemetery Gardens and Roberts Funeral Home will still be here to care for your family for years to come.

Some folks spend Memorial Day Weekend at the lake, or barbecues. This is my third year spending it at the cemetery where I work. This is our busy season. And while it may be a cemetery, East Lawn Memorial Park is just beautiful. Our maintenance staff have put in hundreds of man hours this week alone making sure all of our 12,000 graves look beautiful.
The JrROTC from Parkersburg High School came out and placed over 2,300 flags on the graves of our veterans buried here. And tomorrow we will have the American Legion, VFW, and AMVets gather in our funeral home for a service honoring all the veterans we’ve buried in the last 12 months.
Have fun this weekend. But take time to remember and reflect that we have the freedoms we do because of these brave men and women whose “footfalls cause no sound”.
