While I enjoy training clients at all stages of life, I specifically sought out training for prenatal/postpartum women because of my experiences in this stage of life.

I’ve had 4 pregnancies and brought 3 healthy, beautiful babies into this world. Each pregnancy and delivery experience was unique and I have worked with so many women who have each had their own experiences as well. Years of trying, IVF, miscarriages, C-sections, vaginal births, complications, medicated, un-medicated. Everyone has a unique story to tell and I honestly love to hear them.

One of my favorite parts of my job is being a listening ear for women to tell their story. And I love answering questions! Working with first time moms is so much fun because I get to share my experience and (hopefully) help give them a sense of peace about their upcoming unknown.

So really, if you ever want to talk pregnancy or childbirth, I am 100% on board - hit me up! I could talk about it all day and am here to answer any questions you may have!

It’s been a while, so I want to introduce myself to everyone here!

I’m Robin! I’m an NASM Certified Personal Trainer as well as an AFPA Certified Prenatal/Postpartum Fitness Specialist and AEA Certified Aquatic Fitness Professional. But that’s not what I ever expected to do!

My degree is in Social Work and I worked in Human Resources after college. It wasn’t until I was pregnant with my first kid that I decided to venture into the fitness industry.

When I was pregnant, the gym I was working out at had amazing trainers, but they were all single men. No one had experience being pregnant or really working with pregnant/postpartum women. I wanted to change that! I wanted to become a resource for other women. So I stepped wayyyyyy out of my comfort zone and accepted a position as a Water Fitness Instructor at another local gym. I had never taken a water fitness class in my life. Or a swimming lesson for that matter. It’s been almost 5 years and I still love it! I studied for and received my and lifeguard certifications. After this I started working on my Personal Training certification through and passed in November 2020. Almost immediately I started working on my prenatal/postpartum certification and completed this in the fall of 2021.

In July 2022 I made the decision to turn fitness into my main gig and started personal training at my local gym in after having my 3rd baby. And here we are over a year later and ready to grow this training gig even more!

On a more personal note, here are more facts about me:
- As mentioned, I have 3 amazing kids and an incredible husband.
- I love hiking, but don’t get out to do it as much as I would like
- I love to read, but am almost exclusively audiobooks these days

Hello all! Welcome to all the new faces and hello again to those of you who have been around for a while 👋🏻

I’ll be posting again later this week about the long absence and also to reinteoduce myself and what we are all doing here.

What did you do today?

Do you feel like there is always too much on your plate? You struggle to get everything done every day? I know, especially as a mom, I have struggled with this. Recently I had a lightbulb moment where I realized I don’t have to do ALL the things EVERY day. It’s okay to get a really great workout only a few days a week instead of a mediocre workout every single day. The “off” days are when I can focus on studying or chores or other items that keep getting added to my to do list.

Depending on your lifestyle, it may be more sustainable to break things up by day (Monday workout, Tuesday study, Wednesday workout, Thursday chores, etc…) rather than trying to do many things every day (30 minutes studying/errands, 30 minutes chores, 30 minutes working out every day). If it feels sustainable, you are more likely to continue doing it and building it into a habit. Sit down at the beginning of the week and decide what you are going to accomplish each day. What did you do today? What will you do tomorrow?

Though I love working with people in all different stages of life, my passion and heart truly lies with helping moms achieve their health goals. Women in every stage of motherhood have unique needs that are best met by someone who has experienced motherhood and who has been trained to help them with the specific changes that occur through pregnancy and postpartum experiences. I am here for you, Moms, as I work toward my Prenatal/Postpartum Fitness Specialist Certification and raise my two young children.

As I mentioned to a friend just this week, parenthood is not for the faint of heart. Here’s to you, moms and dads, and all the incredible things you do day in and day out that so often go unnoticed. You’re rockstars.

There are so many different ways to motivate yourself - do any of these stand out to you as something you can incorporate into your life?

But honestly, sometimes what you really need is someone else to come in and be that motivation for you. Someone to check in and give you accountability and encouragement when you can’t do that for yourself. One aspect of what I can offer as a personal trainer is that accountability. Even if you are using a different training resource (online, gym membership, group, etc.), one thing I can offer you is personalized accountability and motivational check-ins.
