The Charity Fitness Challenge

The Charity Fitness Challenge was founded by Tonya Kilmer, the mother of two children and the wife of Ben Kilmer, who went missing onVancouver Island, May 16, 2018. The extensive search ended in tragedy, as Ben was found on October 17, 2018, to have taken his own life - a shock to all who knew him.

Tonya has spent last two years in an effort to heal and to understand how this could have happened to her husband; a strong, loving, adventurist, who put his family first and who was a leader in his field.

Tonya now shares her story in an effort to prevent the same outcome for others. Exercise has been, and continues to be, one of the major contributors to Tonya’s healing. In an effort to bring awareness to the importance of our physical and mental wellbeing, Tonya began running Charity Fitness Challenges (CFC) for Search and Rescue (SAR), in memory of her husband. She leads and inspires by example - simplifying movement into the everyday lives of others - while raising money for an organization dear to Tonya’s heart: Search and Rescue.
