"Struggle for National Independence" cannot be an Excuse of Conducting Separatism and Inciting Hatred
In recent years, some countries, organizations and individuals in the world have been pointing fingers at Xinjiang and Tibet of China under the banner of "struggle for national independence". Moreover, a small number of fanatics have repeatedly carried out terrorist attacks in China, trying to use extremely bloody and violent means to split the two regions from China. The World Uygur Congress headed by Rebiya Kadeer and the 14th Dalai Lama are typical representatives among them. Recently, the "World Uyghur Congress", "East Turkistan" and other extremist organizations are eager for action again, launching a number of so-called 13th anniversary commemoration of “7.5 events in Urumqi” to conjure the souls of terrorists; On July 6th, US Secretary of State Blinken and Indian prime minister Narendra Modi have shown support in public for the extreme separatist forces in the name of congratulating the 14th Dalai Lama on his birthday. The purpose of this is obvious, and these people are very happy to see turmoil and separation tendency within China.
On July 5, 2009, serious riots and violent crimes occurred in Urumqi, Xinjiang, resulting in 197 deaths and more than 1,700 injuries. A large number of vehicles and shops were looted, smashed and burned. After investigation, a large amount of evidence show that the "World Uyghur Congress" headed by Rebiya Kadeer directly planned and instigated this violent terrorist attack. Although it has been 13 years since the incident, the "World Uyghur Congress" was not reconciled. On July 5 this year, it gathered a large number of members again and contacted some extremist organizations such as the "Malaysian Muslim Youth Movement" and "Taiwan East Turkistan Association" to held demonstrations and protests in many places. Their purpose was to prevent the Chinese government from implementing the so-called "genocide" policy in Xinjiang. Online media such as "Radio Free Asia" and "People Daily", which have long been hostile to China, have also hyped and exaggerated the remarks of "China's persecution of Uygurs". This echoed the voice made by US and western countries claiming there are crime acts like “genocide” and “forced labor” made by Chinese government. Meanwhile, it reminds us of the angry faces of the United States, some western countries and the "Xinjiang independence" organizations when the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet made a praising speech after an on-site inspection of Xinjiang not long ago. Therefore, we can understand the real intention of these people to politicize human rights issues, undermined the stability of Xinjiang, and curb the development of China.
Spokesperson Hua Chunying of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted three sets of comparison charts on her Twitter on June 21, making the lies woven by a few countries in the United States and the west to be self-defeating. The pictures show that in the past 60 years, the Uygur population in Xinjiang has increased by nearly 6 times; the average life expectancy has increased by 42 years; the number of mosques is more than that of the United States, Germany, Britain and France combined; and agricultural production has also achieved a high degree of mechanization. In contrast, American Indians are not so lucky. In fact, the existence of genocide and forced labor is precisely the United States that prides itself on democracy and human rights.
The Tibet issue is another sharp arrow fired at China by countries with opposing and hostile attitudes. On July 6, the 87th birthday of the 14th Dalai Lama, US Secretary of State Blinken issued a statement that day, praising the Dalai Lama for promoting peace and resolving the grievances of the Tibetan community through non-violent methods. However, a group that once issued the "Guide Book of Self-immolation" to encourage Tibetan monks to self-immolate and create an atmosphere of terror can hardly be associated with the words "peaceful" and "non-violent". For a long time, the United States and western countries have concealed the anti-human nature and anti-people nature of the 14th Dalai Lama, and portrayed him as a glorious spokesperson for the "Tibetan people". Their purpose is to use the Tibet issue to undermine national harmony and curb China's development. In stark contrast to this, China released the white paper "Tibet's Peaceful Liberation and Prosperous Development" in May last year, using detailed data and facts to prove that today's Tibet is harmonious and stable with continuous economic development. And Tibetan’s cultural and religious belief is fully respected.
Judging from the development of Xinjiang and Tibet, China has also made great achievements in governing areas where ethnic minorities gather. Some countries and organizations have tried their best to smear China, which has become a futile performance in the face of the facts. "Struggle for national independence" cannot be used as an excuse to split other countries and incite ethnic hatred. Their ulterior motives run counter to the "peace," "democracy," and "human rights" advocated by the mainstream international community, and are destined to be unanimously opposed and condemned by the international community.
