reminder with the holidays coming up that food is more than macros & calories-it’s also traditions, connections, family, nostalgia & love.💞

you don’t need to be afraid of your thanksgiving plate or skip breakfast on thanksgiving morning. let yourself enjoy & then go back to “normal” the bext day. no punishment, no “gotta be good and make up for it”. LIVE your beautiful life. one day of dang good eats is not going to “ruin your progress” — it’s the restrictive mindset that will. ❤️

I would’ve been terrified to have this much food in one sitting a few months ago (shoutout to diet culture, low-fat preacher’s + misinformation) but now, I’ve never felt more nourished by food in my life ✨🌙

I’ve been consistent with the animal based(ish) lifestyle for the past month, and all of my painful physical period symptoms literally didn’t show up this time around. To the point where I thought something was WRONG - I was so used to debilitating cramps + tenderness, that the absence of those truly made me think I wasn’t even going to be on time this time around! 🌙

food truly is medicine. In so many ways. It’s preventative, it’s a healer, it is love. If you wanna hear more about an animal based(ish) lifestyle and what that looks like for me, comment 🥩 !!!

when making your coffee at home becomes more exciting than buying out bc u just KNOW that recipe is fire.☕️🥲✨🥹

i used to load up my coffee with sugar-free syrups, artificial sweeteners, fat-free creamers + highly processed plant milks, etc….because they were lower in calories and therefore, i believed them to be the “healthier” options.🥲

aa someone who has been experiencing incredibly intense period symptoms for as long as she can remember - i started to do some digging. what swaps can i make in my lifestyle to help me feel my best and lessen these symptoms?⬇️

long story short, i learned that whole, real foods are a big part of the answer to that loaded question. artificial sweeteners and fillers are endocrine disruptors. (aka chemicals that interfere with the body’s hormones!!)✨

since making some simple swaps, like switching up my morning lattes, i’m already feeling better and seeing differences in my symptoms! Plus everything tastes better when it’s made with real ingredients, go figure🤷🏼‍♀️

recommend giving this recipe a try and finding places to make whole food swaps in your own lifestyle!🥰 ps shop at trader joes and you’ll find these are actually quite affordable swaps!!!

im doing my best to follow the 1% better everyday concept, when it comes to taking care of myself

the first thing i usually neglect when it comes to taking care of me is quality time. so the goal is to just do a lil thing every day that falls under that category✨

doesn’t have to be monumental. 1% more is better than nothing!!!

i used to ~strongly dislike~ my side profile, still learning to love her. 🤎

it’s so interesting how nit-picky we can be with ourselves. especially physical things.

im realizing more & more as i continue to grow that confidence is an energy that can only come from within.

i think it’s a conscious decision, one that needs to be decided over and over again and practiced until it feels natural.

& it probably won’t feel natural at all at the start-but eventually it will.

like building muscle-it’s multi-faceted.

pure confidence is alignment with mind, body, + spirit

the way we nurture ourselves behind the scenes, and in every aspect of life-is all working together to build our confidence. don’t underestimate the power that your own energy has. ✨

you are the only person who can decide who you are & what you value.

hiii🫶🏼 it’s been a wild couple of days & i hope we’re all hanging in there. community is key, we need each other rn & always. im here, im grateful you’re here.

i’ve been wanting to share a list of ✨things i do that make me feel more okay✨ for a while now, and I figured now is a good time to share:

-saying no to social events that i’d only attend because of FOMO

-going for a walk. walks walks walk. can be a short one, a long one, etc. Go at your favorite time of day and feel deeply into that love for that time as you walk.

-making a playlist for every mood. music is healing & having one for each state of being is ❤️‍🔥

-when im overwhelmed, i imagine my future self sitting in front of me telling me how glad they are that we kept going. (shoutout to my besite for voice memo’ing me ab this one time-i’ll never forget that ily)

-do nothing, lay in bed & stare at the ceiling

-talk to the people who i know will listen

-asking for hugs

-create a “vibe” in my space to feel really cozy, aka pillow forts, mood lighting, candles, 528hz frequency music, etc.

-the 4-7-8 breath (in for 4s, hold for 7s, out for 8s, repeat 4x)

These are just a few things i do to calm my nervous system. Sometimes Im so overwhelmed that i do none of them.
I know that the world is…seeming very grim right now.

Im feeling confused/hurting/anxious.

I believe the “system” is crumbling so bad that they’re grasping at every last bit of “control” they can have. We are so much more powerful than they want us to believe.

We’re taking real action & we’re keeping our nervous systems grounded and as steady as possible in the meantime. We do this together. ❤️

for me, it was waking up early to get an early workout in & get ready to start tech rehearsals tonight for the musical I’m currently in.

Hi! Im Caitlyn🥰thanks for being here.

I’m an actor, singer, certified holistic health coach & lifelong learner.

I post on social media to inspire, to remind, to connect, & to provoke thought.

I don’t really fixate on too much of a specific “niche” besides: feeling good again.

And that could mean something different every single day. We’re multifaceted humans. We’ve got loads of different interests and dimensions to us. And at the end of the day, all I want to do is be authentic, create, and connect with people.✨

It’s okay to forget:

forget to be present

forget to detach

forget to come back to kindness

forget to say thank you

forget to practice

It’s called a “practice” for exactly this reason.

It’s the coming back home that matters, at the end of the day

It’s the remembrance that drives us to start over and over again.

That “aha” moment, that breath of fresh air.

Although it’s something we’ve always known, forgetting and then remembering again is like re-learning it for the first time…

this time with another notch of experience on our belt.
a deeper understanding is gained,

and we are forever inspired to remember over and over again.

without darkness, there is no light…

without forgetting, there is no remembering.
