I don’t know a more caring, loving and selfless person and I’m sincerely grateful to have a wife who is genuine, good, and who makes me want to be better everyday. Thank you for taking care of our family. I’m so excited to continue experiencing all of life with you - the good and the bad - Bc in the end, it’s made us that much stronger.

I used to “reflect” often on social media and then stopped because I feel as though at the ripe age of 28, there is so much of life I don’t have figured out yet and there’s no reason to “preach.” On the other hand, I’ve found it a good way to process info that I think about. It also makes my pictures somewhat more (or less) interesting.

So, here is a low quality image with my thoughts: I am really bad, like awful, at being in the moment and enjoying it for what it is. My mind is constantly on the go and thinking about next steps: I’m thinking about cardiology fellowship, the app process, where in the country I want to go and I’m only 3 months into residency.

I took this picture on our road trip to California and although I was engulfed by the beauty of Yellowstone NP, my mind was fixated on next steps. And now that we’re here, my mind is running at 100mph. We’re constantly trying to build and when we’re finished building, instead of admiring how much we’ve done, we’re fixated on the next project. Life is short and it’s the little moments that are getting away. Careers are important, as are building a family, establishing a name for ourselves, etc. but burnout is real and the only way to avoid it is you focus on the now every once in a while.

I have a passion for climbing. In the literal sense but also figuratively-speaking. Happiness and meaningfulness don’t always go hand-in-hand, and when in doubt, chase meaningfulness. This means taking the hard route, challenging yourself, being patient in the face of adversity, continuing to climb. Find the biggest mountain you can climb; the largest dragon you can slay and go after it.
