Feeling the daylight shorten and more chill in the air and in your bones? It's that time of year again-- to call on the energy of our INNER SUN! ☀️ Who wants to join me????

We may want to curl up and shelter in warmth (hibernate 🐻) and yes, do that! It's a season to relax and reflect on the year.

AND it's a good time to tap into your inner fire 🔥, to burn up what's spent and purify the body, and GET WARM from the inside.

🕯 Every year 11 days before Winter Solstice, I practice the kundalini set called SURYA KRIYA. Surya is named after the energy of the SUN. It helps you to energize, be expressive and extroverted, and get a clear and focused mind.

🔥 What an honor to be a contributor on the Upskill Developmental platform with other strong women, sharing wisdom for mindset and professional development.

💃🏻 I am thrilled to provide my course The Overwhelm Antidote and hope that it will be of service to those who need it. There are a number of tools out there to help you deal with overwhelm.... 12 ways, 9 tips, one 30-second trick, etc. It can be overwhelming to know which one to choose! I know this feeling well and over the years have tried many of them-- and many will work for the moment, usually after falling into deep despair from the overload.

✅What I've found works every time is knowing how to pause and reconnect with yourself. When you sink into overwhelm, you start to disconnect and feel disempowered. Reconnection to your true Self allows you the sense of calm and clarity needed to decide and act above the noise of overwhelm. Check it out if this speaks to you! ❤️

I’ve heard many people lament about how they’re “too old” or “set in their ways” to create meaningful change in their lives. The old adage that “it’s all in your mind”, while often infuriating or insulting to hear, can really apply when it comes to healing a turbulent path.

** If you want to heal your path, that is. You have to want it. **

Oftentimes our deep pains feel insurmountable and overwhelming so it’s understandable to fear “hope”. If you fail, it just feels like another thing to add to the pile of personal pain.

If you do indeed want to heal your path, remember:
PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION.

Each attempt to heal yourself offers progress, even if the step is “well, that didn’t work”.

That doesn’t sound very exciting, I know. YET, owning this attitude is about Resilience and Perseverence. AND, in my experience, the right attitude is essential to the healing process.

SO HOW DO YOU HEAL:
Discovering the wounds that have set you on your turbulent path--
the ones that seem to keep coming up for you to sabotage all your positive attempts to “do better” or “be better” --
is possible and can be the answer to your healing.

Healing your past has the power to completely change your mindset around the painful experience and help you to remember that moment and subsequent moments from an empowering lens.

This effectively changes your PRESENT
and the path for your FUTURE.
As well as your feeling about your PAST.

Powerful.

This is how I treat the people I love......”

make a list, consider the ways you love the way you love others
(and if you don’t like the way treat your loved ones, this is something to notice too).

we often treat others better than we treat ourselves.
we are often harder on ourselves and have unrealistic expectations.
our own love is often ‘not enough’ so we demand it from others instead.
and we often express ourselves in unintended ways as a result.

you have the power to gift yourself all that you need
when you can love yourself,
your expectations on others to provide that love can gratefully turn into pure appreciation, connection, compassion and joy (instead of heavy expectations)

it’s not an acceptance of ill-treatment;
our healthy boundaries is a part of self-love.
it IS a way to be in relationship with others for the pure joy of connection,
from a place of wholeness.
this is how to maintain healthy relationships:
not seeking others to fill the holes, nor filling in the holes of others
(this is called co-dependency)
but to bring your WHOLE SELF to the party
and enjoy each other, indeed love one another,
because you can first love yourself.

Self-love is all these things and more. ❤️

🌻 That it is a journey is key to internalize as the depth of that love can take time, just as you might experience with any of your relationships. The depth of love a mother feels instantly for her baby (though not always true!) is probably the closest I can think of as to the depth we will journey to for our SELF-love. In fact, it is often helpful to imagine your inner child when difficult emotions wreak havoc on your life. How we often treat ourselves is not what we would do/say to a child in pain-- never! It would be cruel and heartless....yet we do it to our inner child all the time.

Are we ready for change?

🔥 One of my favorite exercises to recommend is to make a list of all your negative self-talk -- write it all out, get it out there. Then, get a photo of yourself as a young child and read your list directed at her. This is a must do!

What happens?

🦋 What it takes to move through a transformation from chronic negative self-talk, a deep and toxic shame carried from who-knows-how-long and all the protective mechanisms that kick in to a deep sense of self-compassion and ultimately acceptance and self-love IS THE JOURNEY. From the time we are born, our experiences shape us and when shame comes in --you did something wrong, you were “bad”, you were rejected, it was not okay to be you --we systematically began to forget who we truly were, the amazing soul we are. The journey is in remembering, in getting back to the pure soul that you are, to shed the masks we donned to protect ourselves when we didn’t know any other way.

🥸 It can take time to remove the mask(s) completely-- take the steps.
🤩 The YOU-In-PROCESS is just as beautiful as the YOU-DEEP-DOWN.
😎 She’s just the most free without the layers-- set her free and enjoy the journey! 💃🏻
