Have you heard of the Glucose Goddess? A friend told me about the book. I watched a few videos with Jessie, and bought and read the book My excitement about it shot up like a glucose spike after a doughnut. It's amazing how the body reacts to food and how we can actually support our body with simple tweaks and hacks.
I highly recommend to dig a bit deeper!

Show yourself a little bit (or a lot) of compassion!

The thing about being on a path of personal growth is that inevitably, you're going to experience growing pains.❤️

It can be tough to shed the comfort of old habits and learn a new way of being. Oftentimes we stumble, we compare ourselves to others who appear to have it all together, and that's when the negative self-talk begins. This can lead to a vicious cycle: the more we falter, the more we berate ourselves for it, and the harder it is to embrace who we're becoming.

The next time you're feeling down on yourself, try this 👉 Imagine yourself as the child you once were. Deep down, that child still lives within you, with all its vulnerability and desire for support, compassion, and approval. If that child were frustrated or scared, would you talk harshly to them? Of course not. You would speak kindly and try to help them understand that life is about growth, and while it's not always easy, it's always worth it.

💬 Tell us: What is one way you can show yourself (and your inner child) compassion today?

How do you remain curious?

School is out and I feel grateful for being able to travel and spend some time at our home in wintery South Africa. Before heading home, we spend a week up north on Safari, at Jaci's Lodge in Madikwe.

The 3 - 3.5 hour safari drives spark curiosity and awe. My mind is completely taken away from the daily thinking habits of what work needs to get done, what to cook, what to prep and so forth. Instead, I let go of all thoughts and enter a stage of curiosity. No expectations, just letting nature show me its wonders and being in a space of discovering something for the very first time.

This is not a new article, but still very valid, especially at this time of the year when many of us are travelling (again 🤩 )

Americans have a lot to learn from other cultures, and from the unpredictable nature of life away from home. Here are six of the most valuable travel lessons learned you may find helpful in your everyday life.

We usually connect appreciation with someone giving us good feedback on something we have done. Maybe you cooked a delicious meal for your family and even the kids are asking for seconds. Or, your boss made a comment on the awesome job you have done on a current project. Feeling appreciated feels amazing, right? It is uplifting and energizing.
Being appreciated is a way to feel that we're important to others. We are valued, or even cherished.

But there are times when your hard work is unseen, or maybe it is just not as important to the people around you as it is to you.
So, does it always have to be SOMEONE ELSE who gives you that uplifting feeling of being appreciated? NO!!!
Start with yourself! It’s important that YOU feel appreciation towards yourself too. Give yourself some love. Think of the things you have done today and show some appreciation, like doing the laundry or clearing your email inbox. Another great way is to look around you - appreciate the gorgeous sunset, a flower that is blossoming on your indoor plant.
Once you feel appreciation, other emotions will kick in, such as happiness and love. And guess what, all of that has a positive impact on your body and it's functions, too!

My first solid food after my 3 Day detox. A handful of delicious strawberries. I am thrilled (yes thrilled) to bite on something, something with different textures and tastes!

I kept my meals very plain and simple, which wasn't a hassle at all.
At lunch time I had a craving for some dhal
So, I made me a kitchari style dish, no rice though. Kitchari is an ayurvedic dish, consisting of lentils, rice and spices. It is nourishing, easy to digest, and promotes whole body healing Despite some resources saying to stay away from legumes after a detox, Ayurveda actually recommends it. My body wanted it, and it felt really good.

I am still feeding on the feeling of having done my body something good, by cleaning it out. Let's see how the next couple of days are going.

I have done it! What a feeling to see this box empty. Feeling victorious!
