1st case in Davao Oriental. Patient was isolated at home and is well now. Contact tracing was done. No outbreak in Davao Oriental. Be vigilant. If suspicious lesions are found in a patient, avoid close contact and isolate. Be safe everyone.

𝐔𝐍𝐀𝐍𝐆 𝐊𝐀𝐒𝐎 𝐒𝐀 𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐗 𝐒𝐀 𝐃𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐎 𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐋, 𝐍𝐀𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐀

Gi-kumpirma sa City Health Office (CHO), pinaagi sa Provincial Health Office (PHO), nga naay unang kaso sa MPOX sa Dakbayan sa Mati, Davao Oriental. Ang pasyente unang mikonsulta pinaagi sa Telemedicine service sa CHO ug gitambalan dayon alang sa mga sintomas. Pinaagi sa City Epidemiology, Surveillance, and Response Unit (CESRU), nagpatigayon og pagkuha og specimen para sa kumpirmasyon nga testing, nga gipadala sa Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) pinaagi sa Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (RESU) sa DOH-Davao Center for Health Development (DCHD).

Ang maong pasyente gipahimutang dayon sa home isolation, diin gitutukan ang adlaw-adlaw nga monitoring ug gitudluan og mahugot nga infection prevention ug control measures. Giimplementa usab ang contact tracing ug monitoring sa mga close contact, subay sa guidelines sa Department of Health (DOH).

Sa kasamtangan, natapos na sa pasyente ang isolation niadtong Hunyo 20 ug karon anaa na sa maayong kahimtang.

Nagpadayon ang surveillance ug response efforts pinaagi sa CESRU ug mga Barangay Epidemiology and Surveillance Response Units (BESRUs), uban sa adlaw-adlaw nga reporting ug monitoring nga ginadumala sa Incident Management System (IMS) sa CHO, subay sa Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in Health (DRRM-H) protocols.

Wala’y outbreak sa Mpox nga naobserbahan sa Dakbayan sa Mati. Ang City Health Office padayon nga nagpaningkamot sa pagpanalipod sa kahimsog sa publiko ug maghatag og dugang nga update kon kinahanglan.

Segun sa Provincial Health Office - Davao Oriental, walay dapat ikabalaka ang publiko tungod kay kontrolado sa mga otoridad ang sitwasyon. Usa ka Press Briefing uban ni Dr. Reden Bersaldo ang ipahigayon karong hapon aron ipaabot ang dugang nga mga update kabahin sa maong sitwasyon.

Unsa ang Mpox?
Ang Mpox usa ka viral disease nga gikan sa orthopoxvirus, nga kasagaran makatakod pinaagi sa duol nga kontak sa tawo nga adunay aktibong mga lesions.

Sintomas sa Mpox:
* Masakit nga hubag o rashes
* Pagkaluya o hilanat
* Pagburot sa mga lutahan o lymph nodes

Sa ubang kaso, mahimong grabe ang epekto ug makahimo og permanente nga peklat.

Mga Dapat Timan-an:
* Maghugas pirme sa kamot
* Likayi ang duol nga kontak sa mga tawo nga adunay rashes o flu-like symptoms
* Magpakonsulta dayon kung adunay makita nga sintomas

Padayon kita nga magbinantayon ug mag-aping.

After experiencing heavy rainfall, flooding, and landslides in different parts of Davao Oriental, Davao Oriental Medical Society received cash assistance from the PMA National through the Initiative of our National Treasurer Dr. Luz Acosta-Barrientos and our SEM Governor Dr. Ruth Sampiano. Monetary assistance was also added by DOMS itself and some of the members’ personal contribution. DOMS was able to organize Bangon Davao Oriental: a Relief Operation last February 11, 2024 and chose Barangay Tagabakid as its community beneficiary. Our President, Dr. Aimee Mandawe-Paredes together with Dr. Kroleth Mandawe coordinated with Tagabakid Barangay Captain Anting Yusop, Barangay Kagawad Charisa Cayaon and Barangay Kagawad Malik Sabello and were able to assist a total of 131 families in the evacuation center. Some of the relief goods were brought to specific households which were difficult to reach by Brgy. Captain Yusop. A total of 150 food packs were also given together with medicines from our Pharma sponsors (Tempra of Taisho and Pedcee of InterMed).

We express our gratitude to the PMA National for its unending support. This is proof that there is solidarity and hope amidst this unfortunate calamity.
