Brilliant news that to everyone that donated and took part in all the raffles and helped get myles a helmet ashleigh and barry really appreciate it ###

Myles was rescanned 2 weeks ago so that his helmet could be ordered & made for him. He’s been fitted & treatment has started. He’s still getting used to it but is doing so well. It’s expected to be on for 6 months, so longer than we had expected but it’ll be so worth it with the difference it’ll make. We can’t THANK YOU all enough for the love you have shown Myles. Everyone has been amazingly kind paying for his treatment & we appreciate you all. 💙😘 xx

My nephew Myles has been diagnosed with severe flathead syndrome. He has both severe plagiocephaly & severe brachycephaly with ear shift & forehead shift. He is in the 1% of infants with a severe cranial deformity. Being twin 1
means he had a bigger chance of gaining the condition as while he was cooking there was less room to move and with another baby above him, especially Ella the little chunky monkey.

The only thing that will help Myles is helmet treatment and time is running out. He is 11 months old and babies over 14 months old cannot be treated due to the hardness of their skull. The NHS don't cover the treatment as it is mostly seen as cosmetic issues as babies can't say that they mind or that they would like it fixed. The advice is to keep his hair long which does hide it well from the front but there is also a good chance Myles will not want long hair forever. It can cause certain delays & wearing glasses or a bike helmet can become an issue as his ears will be misaligned and safety helmets aren't designed for his shape of head. The cost of the helmet is £2,650.

Iknow that just now we are in uncertain times, harder than any other before. So absolutely anything you could give no matter how small will help massively. Normally parents would hold a charity night to raise the money but obviously in such circumstances this isn't an option at the moment, so I thought I would make this page to try & help as much as I can.
