The energy of this chakra is concerned with personal power. Our sense of place in this world, our confidence in ourselves, and self esteem. When this chakra is out of balance we may become overly sensitive to the reactions and opinions, we may feel indifferent, coolness or rejection and anything less than totally positive feedback as criticism of ourselves. Our 'inner critic' may be operating at a level where we have very little confidence in our capabilities, our worthiness. However whe this chakra is well balanced we are able to accept the responsibilities that are truly ours and be confident in our actions and abilities. The energy of this chakra is centred around Pleasures, Desires and Creation.
If we have an excess of energy in this chakra, we may be overly focused on satisfying our desires, or unaware or unwilling to acknowledge that it is not always necessary nor is it healthy to have all our desires met. If we have low or depleted energy levels in this chakra, we may deprive ourselves of any pleasure, or try to deny that we have any desires which will cause blockages in our creativity and passion. First Chakra - Survival Instincts

The First Chakra is about survival.
Do I have enough food, water, shelter and money to survive? Am I physically safe?
The First Chakra aka Root Chakra represents the very base level of existence for us, and reveals our most instinctive selves. Our strongest instinct is to survive. So if we are not confident that these basics of well-being are not in place. Survival will tend to dominate our thoughts and drive our actions. This does not mean that we cannot achieve personal growth unless we become wealthy. It is more a matter of trusting that our world is an abundant place and that all we need is available to us. As a Gemini I would have to say one of our best stones AKA The Shapeshifter the beautiful earthly colours and protective and healing properties. Tiger Eye embraces inner - strength, personal willpower and to call on the powers of protection.
