Why you don’t need to be training more than this 👇

Since Bonnie joined us on the earth 🌎 my training has been decreased a fair bit..

For the first 2 weeks I didn’t touch a weight.

I then trained twice

This week is the first week I’ve hit all 3 training sessions.

Apart from feeling fatigued from poor sleep, my training has been really f*cking good.

Becoming busier over night from doing dad things alongside running a business and doing life I couldn’t think of anything worse than having to commit to 5 days a week of training.

This fits in perfectly with how our programming works at

It’s come a long way since I posted this..

9 years ago I was just starting my official ‘PT’ brand working under a franchise in a local council run gym..

I’m always harsh on myself with growth and progress but it’s often when we look back on a bigger scale we realise ..

‘Yeah I’ve done pretty fu***ng well’

18 months ago we opened our gym facility.

There’s been times I’ve wanted to quit and just ‘get a real job’

It’s been stressful but also fu***ng rewarding.

If you think you’re not getting anyway just zoom out a little further.

Interesting to be able to look back in the next 9 years and see where it’s at 🤯

As said recently, think direction, not speed.

Thank you to everyone who’s helped me on this journey over the past 9+ years.

Best advice I’ve had about being a dad

From my good friend

Be present.

That’s it.

I was sh****ng myself worrying about providing and being able to look after the family before Bonnie came along.

Reality is I just need to there and be present. Especially when she gets older.

You can’t get that back.

Some people will be triggered.

To be honest a few years back I would of skipped social occasions to hit a workout in fear of not progressing..

I would of sacrificed nice meals in fear it would affect how I looked..

Now..

Im complete opposite 🎯

3 lessons from the past 10 since Bonnie came along 👇

1) You can try and prepare for being tired.. it won’t happen 😂

I have doubled my caffeine consumption over the past week or so..

2) You can plan EVERYTHING to the second.. but it won’t stick that way.

We were due to go out the other day.. all ready.. then Bonnie s**t herself… twice.. 💩

3) You’ll forget most things and conversations when you’re this tired 🥱 write s**t down!

A week as a high performance coach

Before you ask. There is no baby still!

I’ve been out on the water 3 times this week on the board. More than I’ve been in all year down to the poor summer we’ve had!

Also went suit shopping for Ash’s wedding on Friday. Ended up buying it online.

My promise to myself.

I’ve always been guilty of spinning too many plates and trying to do too many things at once.

One thing I don’t do enough of?

Chilling the f**k out.

This is my commitment to doing more of that.

Especially so close to meeting baby girl.

I don’t want to be the dad that’s always working and not present.

What results can I achieve in the next 6 weeks?? 👇👇

We collected some of the data from our last 6 week challenge and here is what we found..

Between 10-14lbs weight loss was achieved between our last challengers 🔥

Clothes were fitting better and feeling more comfortable 👕

Strength was up an average of 13% across our strength markers on average.

Increases of energy so that the mid afternoon crash was a thing of the past 🤯

These are just SOME of the progress metrics we track over the 6 weeks.

This is a lifestyle transformation meaning we WANT you to continue to enjoy your life.

One of the biggest reasons we don’t get results is because we just ‘wing it’

Random exercises, random reps, random workouts..

Here is one of our current full body workouts in our SGPT Strength Training Sessions.

We always have 1 big move in each training plan to focus on strength..

We also incorporate mobility work into our programs as let’s be honest, how often to you spend doing stretching and mobility at home? 👀

We also finish each session with a small conditioning set up( not shown) to leave our members leaving with a sweat on 💦

If you’re currently just winging it and it feels like you’re spinning your wheels, save this and use it next time 👊

We know that ‘winging it’ will only get you so far..

So why are YOU doing it with your health?

Turning up and the gym and following a random workout you found on google..

Or you’ve seen someone else doing a certain exercise and thinking.

‘They look good, I’ll copy them..

Yeah, you might make some progress doing that.. But it won’t last long that’s for sure..

We believe at Elevate that our members should be progressing not just with how they look and feel, but how they perform too..

To see them progress weekly in the workouts and training programs that they are working hard in.

To see someone's confidence when they lift a new PB is as much of a win as seeing that loss on the scale.

This is why we run our training programs in 4 week blocks so that members can see progress in how they look, feel and perform 🔥

Here is what they do 👇

Track each workout ( you can also use a notebook)
Try to increase the weight from previous weeks..
Or try and do an extra rep or 2 from previous

The compounds on this are incredible! Give this a go if you don;t already..

These 2 things that have stopped my afternoon crash 💥

I go through phases of having that crash between 2 and 4pm where I’m ready for bed 🛏️

Mainly on the days where I’m up for coaching really early.

This has been affecting my productivity and energy massively..

I know it’s a big thing for a lot of people.. I bet you’re reading along nodding your head like ‘yeah that’s me!’

Here are 2 things I’ve been trying over the last couple of weeks to battle this.

Both have come from various podcasts that I’ve been researching this through..

1) I was always hammering coffee first thing upon waking.. I’ve now pushed this back to at least 90 minutes after waking.

2) A man named Andrew Huberman ( scientist) talks about NSDR. This is non sleep deep rest. It’s just 5-10 minutes of relaxation technique that leaves you feeling recharged and relaxed. Can search this on YouTube

Both I’ve seen a big difference in over the past couple of weeks so I thought I’d share.
