Hi there, I’m a Nutritionist in my final year of my Bachelor degree at Endeavour College of natural health on the Gold Coast located at Southport. I would love to see as many clients in clinic as I can before I graduate.

My interests include but aren’t limited to children’s health, food allergies, gut & skin issues.

I am a mum of two now 9 & 7. I have been on the food allergy health journey with my daughter, which sparked my interest in natural health.

My daughter went from being severely allergic to dairy with a multitude of symptoms including gut, skin & decreased immunity to now being able to eat her allergen food with no issues. Going through this process made me fall in love with what natural medicine can offer.

I get asked this all the time!

Clinical Nutritionists: approach disease prevention and management through a multidimensional lens. Nutrient adequacy, food quality, dietary behaviours and lifestyle are assessed so that individualised Nutrition Care Plans can be developed.

Dietitian: medical dietitian, or dietician identify and treats disease-related malnutrition conducting medical nutrition therapy, for example designing an enteral tube feeding regimen, gastric surgery support and provides food and nutrition support in many other areas.

Hey have you ever wondered how or why we absorb all the goodness from the food we eat through your digestive system? The issues that can develop and the knock on effect for all that goodness you want to absorb.

Well you are in for a treat!

The digestive system is a wonderful thing responsible for so many tasks. This system starts at the beginning of your mouth all the way to the other end where you elimate waste aka poo. Ah poo I could talk about this in great detail, don't deviate Amanda another time.
Ok, ok back on track.

So digestion starts in your mouth and the thought process that goes into anticipation of that glorious meal of food. Our mouth salivates to secrete saliva to assist chewed up broken down food to be swallowed by being moistened with special enzymes to digest the starches in your meal. So if your thinking of specific foods your digestive system awaits in anticipation to digest that specific meal with all of its complexities.

So can you see the issue here?.....
If we aren't chewing our food efficiently mindfully, with good intentions and desire. There is already a knock on effect, of self sabotage to your digestion process. So next time your going to eat that peice of cake or a peice of chocolate enjoy it! Savor it, don't let shame and self hate creep in accept it cherish it and enjoy. Cause you already know its these are treats to be eaten in moderation.

Next time let's talk some more on what happens next in the next part of digestive system after swallowing your meal.

So go and enjoy a peice of dark chocolate, and savour it.

So I know I have been a bit quite lately been a bit sick since changing my diet around.

Did you know that when you make dramatic changes with your health, your body can sometimes become run down to make way for the shift you are creating.
So I have been listening to my body and taking some much needed rest, sleeping when I can and reducing other aspects of my life where I can.
This is just the selfcare I needed to spark my life and wellness journey back into the flow I need to be in. 📸 pic unplash
