Reminder: The Ego and the Self are NOT one in the same 👥✨🔐

Understanding that the Ego is more like an experience of the Self will help you to realize that the process of letting go of an unhealthy Ego isn’t about letting go of “who you are”.

It’s a process of letting go of all the things you were told you had to be in order to be:
✔️happy,
✔️successful,
✔️worthwhile,
✔️productive,
✔️acceptable,
✔️loved, etc.

The Self knows that it is always these things by the choices made within the mind - the thoughts accepted and believed in 🧠💭

This is why the journey to your purest form - your true Self is referred to as a journey of “healing” and “unbecoming”. ❤️‍🔥✨

It’s understanding that the identity of the Ego is not the host or the source but an extension of experience …. No matter how long you have lived with an identity and convinced that it was a part of you the truth is that it is nothing more than experience of understanding what you are NOT to learn how to be and love what you ARE

Consciousness Levels🧠🧬✨

In every moment we attach our own context to the content of life. These contexts are in constant flux, and we use them to navigate the world.

These contexts can be broken down to 4 levels of consciousness:

1️⃣TO ME (victim consciousness)

2️⃣BY ME (responsible consciousness)

3️⃣THROUGH ME (present consciousness)

4️⃣AS ME (unity consciousness).

We move through these states several times through the day, often within minutes or hours.

There’s no right or wrong when it comes to states of consciousness. But we may be able to find a new appreciation of life by taking note of which consciousness we are currently situated in, and elevate ourselves beyond feeling a victim from life’s circumstances.

You can only truly understand from the level you are in at that moment. If someone in ‘as me’ speaks to someone in ‘to me’, they will interpret the content differently with their own state of consciousness.

The way we view our Self is largely shaped by the ways we use words and accept the language of others as “truth” within our own mind🧠💭

This especially applies to our unique skills and abilities - whether they be physical, cognitive or spiritual.

Think about some of the ways you currently limit parts of your Self to only be perceived and used in a negative or destructive way, because of the way you or others have defined those traits.

How can you re-define these traits in a way that will allow you to appreciate them as intentional and constructive parts of your unique Self? What are some ways that this skill/ ability has served you and(or) others positively?

Remember: just because someone doesn’t appreciate or understand your skills/ abilities - it doesn’t have to mean that you don’t appreciate them either! 🫂✨

Expanding your concept of emotional language expands your cognitive abilities for processing internal and external emotional experiences.

Our individual relationship with language and internal definement of words for our Self and others shapes our reality and how we experience life 🫂✨

For example, naming your emotions on a deeper more descriptive and personal level allows you to comprehend them more productively.

This process is referred to as Emotional Granularity: the idea that when we are able to describe our emotions more specifically, we gain the ability to process them and communicate our needs to others without being detrimentally reactive.

Remember: language is a tool like any other - neutral in its existence and shaped purely by the actions you take with it and the way you use it.

A wonderful tool for learning how to combine language and emotion in a way that positively benefits you is by using the Wheel Of Emotion.

What is the Wheel of Emotion? ☸️
It’s a tool used by psychologists and therapists alike. Its function is to help users identify how they feel by going through a list of emotions.

How does it help? 🤔🫂✨
Scientifically speaking, using the wheel to identify and label your feelings, activates the parts of your brain that help you regulate your emotions.

As you awaken to the shadow aspects of your Self there comes a point in the journey where the Self work becomes about not being angry for your previous state of unawareness 🫂✨

This is the true depth of Self acceptance; learning how to love the lessons and part of your Self who “knew not what they did” and understanding and appreciating the necessity of that part of human spiritual process.

If you find your Self frustrated and angry about the person you were - take some time to think about the ways you can be grateful for how this past version of you allowed for the evolution and space that has become the person you are in the present.

Remember that without the total journey you can never reach a destination worth arriving at.

A Koan is a riddle or puzzle that can be used during meditation to help you unravel greater truths about the world and about yourself. It does this by the use of paradoxes which induce what is referred to as “the great doubt” 🌀🤷👀🧠

The purpose of the paradox and inducement of the “great doubt” is to challenge you to tease out your own meaning. The Koans greatest wisdoms come when you realize it is actually meant to be understood by the Spirit and your intuition instead of the mind. 👤💠💛🧘🌌
