How I unlearned my old self.....

I have had my share of bumps and bruises in life like everyone else has. I like to think of each experience as a lesson that prepares me for the next phase of my life. I have often had people ask me why I am so optimistic- I am not always this way but I totally prefer to be-it feels so much better than living the negative Nelly way. Being optimistic is a choice in my control and the key to my happiness. Lots of things are not in our control but the things that are.....I am going to definitely take full advantage of them!!! The other things that are in my control are my reactions to the curve balls life throws at me! Oh yes, I have learned to rewire my brain and can respond to difficult people with grace and poise....not every time but more often than not!! I am a work in progress. I wake up each day and ask myself “what is the best version of myself I can be today?” I have sat in meditation unlearning the old self and rewiring the new self. I have decided I am worth giving myself the time of meditation. Heck, I work out my body most every day, what about my mind!!??? What would I do without my mind?? Don’t I want a healthy mind too?? You bet I do!! Meditation and a positive attitude have helped me through so many many difficult situations. I would love to teach you how. It really isn’t complicated. It is a choice to make time for yourself, I am talking like 20 minutes a day!!!

I would like to share with the world my love of positivity and how you really can live a life feeling zen, joyful, and more positive.

I teach this approach by using the 9 week PART program designed by the Benson-Henry Institute of Mind Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. The PART program is derived from the SMART program and is backed by pure science.

I’m certified by the Benson-Henry Institute (BHI) of Mind Body Medicine at MA General Hospital to teach their PART Program (Positivity and Relaxation Training). Dr. Herbert Benson can be largely credited for demystifying meditation and helping to bring it into the mainstream by renaming meditation the “Relaxation Response”. His studies in the 1960’s and 1970’s were able to show that meditation promotes better health, especially in individuals with hypertension. People who meditate regularly enjoy lower stress levels, increased wellbeing and even were able to reduce their blood pressure levels and resting heart rate. The Relaxation Response is essentially the opposite reaction to the “fight or flight” response. According to Dr. Benson, one of the most valuable things we can do in life is to learn deep relaxation- making an effort to spend some time every day quieting our minds in order to create inner peace and better health.
