This week Anthony Poente, Fire and Life Safety Educator of the New Bedford Department, provided an engaging and informative presentation about household fire hazards, how and where to safely evacuate during an emergency, and guidance on oxygen tank and electricity use. His presentation was kept lively and fun with frequent small games of bingo for prizes. At the end of his visit, Mr. Poente provided safety materials for all attendees and held a Q&A session Leaving residents with practical knowledge and confidence.

This evening we were honored to welcome New Bedford City Councilors Naomi Carney, Shane Burgo, and Maria Giesta.

They joined our residents at dinner and took the time to go table-to-table, chatting and listening to their stories. Moments like these mean so much, as they give our residents the chance to connect personally with community leaders and share their voices.

We’re grateful for their visit and for the opportunity it gave our residents to engage in meaningful conversation.

Before the month comes to an end, please join us in congratulating Mariana Martins, our September Employee of the Month! 👏

Since joining the Whaler’s Cove team in June, Mariana has quickly made a lasting impact on both residents and staff. Her work is dependable, caring, and always delivered with kindness and grace.

Most recently, she went above and beyond for her department while her counterpart was out — showing her dedication, teamwork, and strong work ethic.

🇬🇧 Final Stop: London! 🇬🇧

Our Ageless Adventure cruise made its last stop today in London, and what a grand finale it was! ✨

🎶 Residents tested their knowledge at Beatles Trivia, enjoyed a Beatles Tribute, and spent the afternoon at a tea party with entertainment by the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra.

Residents who collected all their passport stamps were entered into our raffle, with prizes including a beautiful basket donated by our friends at Compassionate Care Hospice 💚

Our staff joined in the fun too, with a weeklong duck hunt that ended in a field day filled with games, fun, and prizes.

It was the perfect way to close out a week of adventure, culture, and community. Thank you to everyone who helped make National Assisted Living Week so memorable for our residents and staff! 🛳️⚓️
