A little recap into our conversation with @skybambi last year. We finally got down to edit them into one minute and God damn it was hard work because there was so much valuable message in the conversation.
.
Here is our few key takeaways here from us to you:
1) Writing allows you to slow down. Something we desperately need in our fast pace world.
.
2) Writing allows you to process. To sit with yourself and process. To listen to your racing thoughts, instead of the influx of other's voices and opinion.
.
3) Writing to yourself has no format. It doesn't need to be pretty, you don't need the best pen or expensive paper. It was the act of writing, processing, acknowledging. That matters. That 'you see you', that 'you are seen and heard'. That void we crave from others, we can actually fill it up ourselves.
.
4) There is no judgement in writing. You write for you. And how often now we do things for ourselves? No one to please, no one to judge, no one to comment. You can emotional dump, you can emotional diarrhea on to these papers and you can also write positive and grateful stuff. Seek no validation or approval for what you write. It is a relationship within that foster.
.
5) @skybambi you are an inspiration. Follow her for inspiration on journaling, or simply inspiration on living.
