Your life and you are not inadequate, just because of the curated content you see on social media. It is normal that we often believe what we see, but it is also important that we build the awareness, that what we see is just a small fraction of truth/ someone's life.
Don't fall for what we see so much that we start believing our life isn't worth s**t if we are not posting about anything.
You don't really travel if you don't post. Your love don't really exist if you don't show. Your friendship or party didn't really happen if no one repost. And we wonder why we seek so much validation for our worth these days.
Don't trust everything you see, even salt looks like sugar.

Healing process is non linear. So is growth, so is your unique life journey. Maybe why we struggle so much internally and as a society, is not that we aren't progressing, but because we have an unrealistic and unachievable expectation of a forever smooth sailing life.
Maybe, just by shifting our expectation of perfectionism, 'only upwards counts' mentality, and acknowledging that down is an unavoidable part of process. We can be a little more human, a little bit kinder, and a little bit more accepting towards one another.

One small language change that can really shift your entire view and mindset towards emotions.
Next time when you find yourself experiencing unpleasant emotion, before you jump into the root cause, sink into the feeling or hop onto finding solution; find space in simply accepting it.
Try changing the sentence, instead of dwelling into the reason, search for the purpose. This doesn't invalidate your emotions but allow you to acknowledge and look at emotion from a different perspective.
Our attempt today, shifting from "the REASON of my anxiety is because how bad COVID situation is right now", to "The PURPOSE of this anxiety allows me to take action to stay healthy and survive this pandemic!"

As we celebrate our mothers and love ones, social media might got us comparing our offerings. If you caught yourself feeling pressurize, know that your love is incomparable. Love is not expensive and here is 10 easy ideas to show love, other than presents! Gift them with words of affirmation, gift them quality time, gift them your act of service, gift them some physical touch.

How is your inner dialogue when faced with challenges? "I am bad" or "I did something bad?" Your inner dialogue influence you significantly and indirectly projecting this talk on your expectations on others too. When someone disappoint you or not live up to your expectation, do you say "you are a mistake" or "you made a mistake?"⁠⁠
Shame or guilt self talk are very much instill into our subconsciousness through childhood. How our parents talk to us, how we experience things, how the world around us receives us. When you shouted in the mall, maybe they say "you are bad kid", instead of "you have a bad behavior". We then proceed to personalise our behaviour, forming unhealthy identity and self blame. Believing that deep down, it wasn't the situation, but it was 'me'. Worse of all, leave unaware, we bring this to our work, our relationships or our children.⁠⁠
If you feel this way or you recognise your tendency of shame self talk, you are not alone. Today, just spend a few minutes to simply be aware. No judgement, no fixing. Just be aware, do you do that to yourself? Do you do that to others?

Emotional suppression is NOT emotional management. Suppression is avoiding your thoughts, feeling, hiding them and pretending to be okay. Management is acceptance, curiosity, observation and change of patterns.
No doubt the latter requires harder work, vulnerability, pain and courage. But no doubt too that is the better route for the root of your long standing inner pain.
Heartened with the recent survey we did with our members. Management is not something you have, or not. It is a conscious effort and consistent practice. You can have that too.
