This week is Balance Awareness Week! ⚖
But what is it all about?
Balance Awareness Week is a global effort to raise awareness of vestibular conditions which cause dizziness and balance problems.

⚖️ How Balance Develops in Children
Balance begins with the inner ear (vestibular system) and grows through movement and play.
👶 Starts with tummy time & head control
🧎 Builds with crawling, sitting & standing
🤸‍♂️ Strengthens through jumping, spinning, and climbing

Balance supports posture, coordination, and confidence in everyday activities.

World Physiotherapy Day 2025 🌍 | Theme: Healthy Ageing
Healthy ageing doesn’t start at 70 — it starts in childhood 💚

Children’s physiotherapy supports early development, builds strong movement patterns, and helps prevent long-term challenges before they begin.
By helping children move well from the start, we’re setting the stage for stronger, healthier futures 🧒👧💪

Let’s celebrate the role of physiotherapy in every stage of life — because healthy habits and strong bodies start young💥

Back to Sport After the Holidays? Let’s Ease In Safely! 🏃

After a summer break, jumping straight back into full training or sports can lead to injury. Here’s how to help your child return to activity the physio-friendly way:

✅ Start Slow
Rebuild stamina and strength gradually — don’t rush!

✅ Warm Up & Cool Down
Simple stretches and dynamic moves before and after play make a big difference.

✅ Check Equipment & Footwear
Proper shoes and gear = safer movement and better support.

✅ Watch for Soreness
A little muscle ache is normal — sharp or ongoing pain is not. Know when to pause and seek help.

✅ Build Confidence
Encourage fun and effort over perfection. Progress takes time!

A safe return = a stronger season! 🏆💪

Did you know September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month? 🎗️

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month takes place globally every September. It’s an annual event that dates back to 1990.
The gold ribbon was chosen to symbolise just how precious children are - and the strength they show in the face of unimaginable challenges.

Today, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is recognised globally to raise funds, spotlight stories, and push for better research and treatments. Behind every ribbon is a child, a family, and a community determined to make a difference.

There are two, free online courses, for parents and families of premature or sick babies in hospital and at home.
The courses have been designed in partnership with clinical psychologists, health professionals and parents as a supportive resource for families experiencing neonatal care for their baby or babies💚

'The environment of the neonatal unit and the constant feeling of threat means that family members often have very busy heads and big feelings that can seem overwhelming. And that can make it feel really tricky getting to know your baby if they are premature or sick. This is why I’ve helped develop these two courses, which will introduce you to some ideas and suggestions to help you feel closer and more connected with your baby.'

We're starting off our back to school series with some information about backpacks! 🎒

Heavy bags = sore backs! A poorly fitted or overloaded backpack can affect posture, cause pain, and make school days harder.

✅ Use both padded straps
✅ Adjust so the bag sits snug & high
✅ Pack light — aim for 10–15% of your child’s body weight
✅ Encourage core strength and posture-building activities at home

A little backpack check can go a long way for growing bodies! 💼✨
