As a general dental office, we perform procedures that generate aerosols. The hand pieces, ultrasonic devices, high volume suctions and air/water syringes that we use during these procedures create aerosols (which are HIGH risk for COVID-19 transmission). In new mandates, any “Aerosol Generating Medical/Dental Procedures” require enhanced Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) such as protective clothing, gloves, fitted N-95 masks, protective eyewear and face shields due to the aerosols being created. As many probably know, the supply of N-95 masks and other PPE are depleting making it difficult to obtain any. We have made the difficult decision to suspend office hours until further notice. We want to keep our patients, as well as our team, safe during this difficult and uncertain time. Our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
