I'm honoured to be part of this year's Conscious Grief Series, an online event hosted by Tara Nash, later this month. I'll be talking about my work in the field of bereavement, as a Grief Counsellor and Grief Yoga Teacher. (With a chat about Rise and Shine too.)

There are 20 other experts speaking on topics ranging from the grief in losing your child, your parents, siblings and spouse to the grief in divorce, sexuality and pet loss.

The event goes live on January 14th and you can register for free here: https://www.consciousgriefseries.com/TobiasOliver

Special days and anniversaries can be particularly challenging when we're in grief. Whilst others enjoy happy celebrations, we can be even more painfully confronted by our loss.

Mother's Day can be especially difficult. This article from CRUSE Bereavement Care offers practical advice on how to cope for both those who've lost their mum and for mum's who've lost child.

Be kind to yourself this Mother's Day and get the help and support you need.

Mother's Day is seen by many as a day to celebrate and spend time with their loved ones, but it can also be a distressing reminder of a death and can trigger emotions of grief and sadness. Find out more about coping with grief on Mother's Day.

Supporting people experiencing grief and bereavement can feel daunting. We so often worry about saying the wrong thing or making things worse. Sadly, this can lead us to saying nothing at all.

But grief needs to be witnessed. We need to know that our loss has been seen and that our pain matters.

That's why I feel so privileged to be asked to lead two Bereavement Training sessions for staff and volunteers at Cavendish Cancer Care.

Facing Christmas alone, or whilst grieving, can be a daunting prospect. This year it is going to be harder than ever. Whether someone was bereaved in 2020 or many years before, the ongoing Covid restrictions mean it is going to be difficult for many of us to be with the people we would most want to see. The virus is adding an extra layer of anxiety to the planning for so many people. It is going to be more important than ever to offer support and compassion to those who are struggling for whatever reason.

For some thoughts and ideas, please use the link below to read Cruse Bereavement Care's "Coping With Grief At Christmas" leaflet.

I wrote this blog back in March at the start of Lockdown. And for many the feelings of grief and overwhelm have continued or deepened as we try to come to terms with these turbulent times.

We are experiencing a significant period of change and uncertainty. Everything is different and we have lost ‘normal’ life. Even though we know that the COVID-19 virus will eventually pass, we know that things will never be quite the same. It is a time of profound and significant grief. Understa...

As an Accredited Hypno-Oncology Practitioner (a specialist branch of hypnotherapy that uses hypnotic interventions to help those on the cancer journey), I know just how important it is to find those precious moments of peace during turbulent times.

That's why I'm so pleased to have been accepted as a volunteer with Cavendish Cancer Care.

This wonderful Sheffield charity does so much to improve the quality of life for people living with cancer in South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

It is such a privilege to help support their weekly Online Relaxation Classes.

I am thrilled to have past my exams to become a Certified Member of the Association of Hypno-oncology Practitioners.

This means I can help people better manage the cancer journey, a time of great stress, worry and discomfort.

There is a growing volume of research showing how hypno-oncology can support people, helping them feel more empowered, experience less anxiety, find relief from common treatment side effects (such as nausea, numbness, sleep issues, appetite, or post surgery pain) to discover an enhanced sense of wellbeing and the ability to relax.

Please get in touch to find out how hypno-oncology could help you.
