IFEEL Method Equine Therapy Student Workshop Why have we chosen Equine Therapy? Studies show that therapy using horses offers a unique way of breaking through barriers and reflecting how we feel.

Why have we set up this Facebook group? An opportunity is available for candidates to apply for 2 days in our workshop from 5-6th October 2022. What will the workshop explore? Do you find yourself saying "yes" when you want to say "no"? The workshop will explore how we create boundaries to protect ourselves and others. This is not an intensive trauma workshop, only an introductory session that we are able to offer as part of our training. We will be observed by experienced Equine Traumatologists throughout the two-day workshop. You will be in safe hands! Who would be suited to this workshop? We are reaching out to Registered Managers and other frontline staff and hoping to help people identify when they are taking on too much and how to define your own boundaries. We are offering a fun, informative two days where you will be able to experience how to take charge of your time and put in boundaries. Refreshments will be available throughout the day.

“This is my great-grandma, Christina Levant Platt at age 100, weeding her garden. She was born into slavery. Her “owner” was a wife that taught my great grandma to read and write secretly, which was illegal and quite dangerous at that time for both of them. She learned to read the Bible.
She had 11 children, she lost two, one son was one of the first black attorneys in US. She sent the 4 boys to college in Boston. Exceptional in those days.
She passed 5yrs before I was born but I love her as if I knew her. Family tells me she would say “ I put prayers on my children’s children’s heads”.
This apparently worked💜
Around April 12, 1861, Christina was at the 1st battle of the CIVIL WAR, in Fort Sumter at Charleston Bay, South Carolina, working in the cotton fields.
She said “the sky was black as night” from cannonball fire. She saw a man decapitated by a cannonball.
She was the water girl for the other slaves as a young girl and “ the lookout” for the slaves in the fields for the approaching overseer on horseback as they secretly knelt and prayed for their freedom.
She would watch for the switching tail of the approaching horse and would alert the slaves to rise up and return to picking cotton before he saw them.
She eventually married a Native American from the Santee Tribe. John C, Platt.
After freedom, Christina insisted upon taking her children north as she knew they would not get a good education in the south, and that’s all she cared about. She died at age 101 in 1944, where she and her husband had built a home in Medfield, Massachusetts, the first black family to move there.
With great respect, I honor my great grandmother.
So much more I could say about this miraculous woman. She gave me much strength in my hard times.
Whenever I thought I was having a hard day, I would think of her and shrug it off.
Thank you for reading one story of millions. 💜 💜

It’s bank holiday and many people are enjoying a day off. For us meet Gavin. He was at risk of being put to sleep. His owner who needs round the clock care didn’t have any other option. No longer able to care for him, but no-one could offer him rescue space. This is the state of the rescue crisis 💔 Gavin is now safe with us. We don’t have the space but we couldn’t let him die 😢

It’s the odd dog here & there now, but please know we are doing all we possibly can. We’re so sorry to the many dogs we have to say no to every day 😭 People get upset we can’t help, it’s understandable as they desperate. Let’s direct our anger at the breeders who continue to churn out puppies for their monetary gain every day.

If anyone could help with any of our long stay dogs who need more experienced foster homes we could save more Gavins… 🙏🙏🙏 Welcome gorgeous boy 💜

This is Tadi. He was enjoying a lovely little walk across some fields with his owner on Sunday when he was allegedly attacked by dogs off the lead. A man had three dogs and two of them - described as black lurcher/bulldog crosses - reportedly attacked poor Tadi. He very sadly died from his injuries 😔💔 The man left the scene without leaving his contact details and police are now trying to track him down.

”I have no idea who you are but today I sat and watched you for about 15 minutes help a homeless man.
I watched you give him your sneakers which looked brand new and then you took off your socks and stood there barefoot while you took his socks off him which had a huge hole and then you wipes his foot with a baby wipe you had in your car. You put the socks and sneakers on him.
You helped him take off his shirt and you put a shirt on him that you had in your car and then gave him a pair of shorts you had along with bottles of water and money.
All the while people walked right past you staring. You had no idea anyone was watching, you weren’t videoing it like everyone else does and then posting it online for recognition. You did it out of the goodness of your heart .
I hope that somehow , someway this post finds you so you know that my daughter and I think you are one amazing, good hearted selfless person.
You are what a man should be. No good deed goes unnoticed💛keep being you.”
