Our children are our future. We need to fight for them, advocate for them, and demand they get the funding for research that they deserve.

Today marks a 5 year milestone. (Canceriversary)

5 years ago today I heard the devastating news that my week old baby had cancer.

Through Elaina’s cancer she has proven to be strong, brave, confident, resilient and has shown soo much love.

We have met a ton of people throughout our cancer during, we are so thankful for everyone. All the prayers, kind and encouraging words, donations, and all the support and friendships we have gained.

Elaina is in remission but cancer will always be apart of her story. And I only hope to be able to fight as hard as she did!

Here’s to a lifetime of good health! We love you Elaina Grace 💜

Found out today that Elaina has pneumonia… poor girl is not feeling well. Please say some prayers for her healing and pray we get good results from the additional tests we are waiting for results on. 💛

Chicago Midway International Airport let’s go bold and support the gold in September 💛🎗️our kids need more support and awareness!!

Hey Chicago Midway International Airport next year let’s go gold in September for childhood cancer awareness month before we go pink in October 🎗️ please share and tag them so maybe they’ll see! Kids deserve more awareness and more than 4% of federal funding!

🎗️ Understanding Relapse in Neuroblastoma🎗️
While relapse is rare in low- or intermediate-risk NB, it's a significant concern for high-risk cases. Studies show long-term survival for high-risk treatment ranges from 25% to over 50%. 📊 Advances in treatment have improved survival rates, but relapses still occur, often within two years of frontline therapy. Bone and bone marrow are the most common relapse sites. Research continues to find effective treatments for minimal residual disease to reduce relapse rates.

We need to talk about Neuroblastoma.

Did you know that Neuroblastoma is the leading cause of cancer death of children under the age of 5?

Did you know that only one of every two children diagnosed with Neuroblastoma survive?

Did you know a child with Neuroblastoma dies approximately every 16 hours?

Did you know around 600 children are diagnosed with Neuroblastoma annually in the US alone?

I can’t help but wonder why, with such sobering figures, more people don’t know about Neuroblastoma.

What can we do to bring awareness?

I’m grateful that through William’s Journey, it has educated and brought awareness to such a ruthless and unforgiving disease.

I know this page has been pretty quiet. Our life has been a mess this last year and a half! But it’s awareness week so I’ll post some updated pictures and facts about our cancer and our strong girl this week.

💜💛🎗️It’s international neuroblastoma awareness week!! 🎗️💜💛

Our little Elaina turned 3 in April. She is full
Of s***k, love and cheese (this kid eats cheese so much she’s going to turn into cheese)!

Her most recent scans in May shows no growth to the cancer in her liver. She wasn’t due to have scans til September but she had some wonky tests results and unexplained pain, so the scans were bumped up. She will go back to Iowa city in September for scans and a cancer clinic visit.

Elaina is excited to start school in the fall. She will be going to PreK and will be at the same school as her big sister LaLa (Savannah).

This summer we hope to have tons of fun. Lots of visits to the park, swimming, chalk, and time with friends and family.
