Explicit Approach: We might teach students about the 24 VIA character strengths, and set aside time for them to complete the VIA character strengths survey to identify their unique character strengths.
Implicit Approach: We might put a ‘strength spotter’ box in the classroom, student common room or at the school’s reception and then invite students and staff to drop in observations of the strengths they see in their peers. These can be shared in the school’s newsletter or at assembly.
