I'm not usually lost for words but the energy in the Shrine of Remembrance is something else.... A heaviness for those who made the ultimate sacrifice but also the pain of those who lost them.

Outside I was really taken by the building, the details, the beauty.... Once I walked through the entrance though, a big wave of grief hit me and wow, it was full on. A party of ex servicemen and servicewomen were there for a Korean war ceremony, both Koreans and Australians. All greeting each other with such warmth, asking about old friends and unfortunately talking of friends passings since they last met.

I sit here with tears in my eyes, these people gave their all, as many have from different nations to fight for freedom and justice. God I hope we can see these endless wars stop.... The innocent lives lost, the generational impacts.
