Because it takes courage to face and deal with your fears and anxieties about teaching life.

Most teachers want to keep the mask on and pretend they are ok.

It feels safer that way.

But this suppression keeps you stuck.😫

And you become a pressure cooker. 🚨

Unfortunately, even the people you live with or know, caring as they may be, may be aware of your struggle but are unable to understand or help you.

It takes a teacher to know a teacher …

Are you feeling “it’s still September” teacher tired … ?🙈

If you’re regularly feeling like collapsing at the end of your teaching day, but feeling guilty for wanting to going home and rest, it’s time to reset your boundaries to protect your health and your peace.

👉Taking care of YOU means you can take care of OTHERS better.

👉You need to stop and work out what you have left in your “tank”, because that is ALL you have to give. That’s your 100%.

👉If you try to give more, your tank will run dry.

✨Remember, you are replaceable at work, not at home.

✨No job is worth running yourself into the ground, and into burnout. 🔥

Research from readers of “Teacher Toolkit” found common themes causing issues in the education sector:

* A problem with decisions made by the government, not based on pedagogy and evidence.
* Teacher salary
* Underfunding of schools
* The expectation of long working hours
* Lack of time to mark and plan during regular working hours
* Poor waiting times for CAMHS referrals
* The negative perception of teachers perpetrated through the media

When teaching becomes toxic you have some tough decisions to make.

Do you stay or do you go …? 🤔

Only you can make that call.

But when you’re stuck in survival mode, feeling anxious and stressed, your nervous system will be highly resistant to change.

Which is why so many teachers choose to stay in the “familiar hell” and then end up burning out … just like I did. 🔥

Many educators come to me saying they want to leave the profession.

They work with me on their identity, their mindset and taking aligned action.

They become mentally stronger, more resilient, and are able to create and access inner peace.

They move on to a new chapter that better matches their values…

👉This lovely client of mine accepted a job working for a charity, AND she negotiated the top salary! She’s now loving her new work life balance! 🙌

However, some educators I work with decide their next chapter involves staying in the profession, but on their terms.

And they are genuinely ok…

👉 I have a current teacher client who admits she was close to a nervous breakdown when she came to work with me. Now she is in a such a good place that she is planning to stay on one more year to help pay off her mortgage. AND she is setting up a new tutoring business to support her when she does leave!

When teaching becomes toxic you have some tough decisions to make.

Do you stay or do you go …? 🤔

Only you can make that call.

Sometimes teachers and educators have to hit rock bottom in order to begin the climb up and out …

My rock bottom was burnout and a cancer diagnosis back in December 2019. 🔥

I resigned, retrained as a clinical Hypnotherapist and Mindset Coach, moved country, and SHIFTED from Surviving into Thriving! 💪

💡 Feeling rail-roaded by Friday Night Teacher Tiredness after your first week back?😫🤔

Try This…👇

Doable tips for tired teachers running on empty!

1: Ditch the guilt.
Let rest be the priority tonight. You’ve earned it.

2: Go horizontal ASAP.
Even 15 minutes lying down in silence (no phone, no demands) can help your nervous system shift gears.

3: Comfort over everything.
PJs early. Blankets. Toast. A soft drink or a warm cuppa. Cosy and simple.

4: Butterfly taps 🦋 + deep breathing.
Gently tap left-right on your chest and breathe slowly. Helps switch off the “go go go” mode.

5: Say NO to big plans.
Friday is for recovery, not productivity. (And the weekend too!)

6: One small joy.
A show you love. A long bath. A funny reel. Something that brings you back to YOU!

✨What am I still carrying from the school year that I don’t want to bring forward?

✨What does my body need to feel safe doing less?

✨What would it mean to truly trust rest?

✨How can I accept the realities of the school system while still protecting my wellbeing?

👉I have also created a new “Future You Back-to-School Confidence” exercise for my lovely teacher clients to help prepare their mind and body for next week!

👉AND I created a 2 minute “Mini calm reset” audio to pair with it, so teachers can listen to and feel calmer whenever they have a mini break - in or out of school! 🙌

As teachers and educators head back into school with a million and one things to do …

🙏 Please remember you are HUMAN.

🙏 Please remember you are FALLIBLE.

🙏 Please remember you are MORE than “just” a teacher.

No job is worth your health and well-being.

Please put YOURSELF first, so that you actually CAN get through this first term with your sanity intact! 🙌

Chronic stress and burnout is a survival state. 🔥

If you are a teacher living in this state, it means your body is continually releasing stress hormones, which drains your energy and enthusiasm for life.

The “happy hormones” - dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin are downregulated in survival mode.

This can make you feel numb, unmotivated, or emotionally disconnected.

Or “tired but wired.” 😳

One of the things I learned from my therapy training was how to reconnect with feelings of joy. 😍

If can feel like an impossibility to achieve, but I was in such a low state I was prepared to try anything evidence based.🙏

Joy is not just a feeling, it’s a skill … and you can train yourself to feel joy.

Micro doses of joy rebuild healthy dopamine loops which switches you out of survival mode and into rest and digest mode. Which allows your mind and body to heal and recover from chronic stress and burnout.

👉I started with one minute positive visualisations each morning.

👉The body doesn’t know the difference between past, present or future.

👉Training myself to imagine how I would LIKE life to be, rather than spending time thinking about how awful life was, became a practice I started to look forward to!

It became my “new normal,” and over time my positive feelings extended longer and longer into my day. 🥳

Other teachers started to notice and ask me what was going on! 🤔

✨And it was the start of a personal practice that grew into a high impact programme, with a variety of transformational toolkits especially designed to support burnt out teachers recover and rebuild themselves and their lives.

✨It starts with a belief that you can commit to making change … with me holding your hand every step of the way. 🙌
