Are you an adult who has experienced conflict or hurt in a romantic relationship? I’m inviting you to join a research study on how people heal and rebuild trust after difficult moments. How do you reconnect with your partner after a disagreement? What helps you rebuild trust or move forward when you've been hurt? What makes you feel safe again after conflict?

The Healing Language Study values your real-life experiences. Many studies miss the details of how people heal in relationships, but this one wants to learn from you, no matter your background or identity.

The survey is
• Open to adults 18+
• Voluntary

If you’ve ever had to work through hurt, repair trust, or find your way back to connection, your voice matters.

How do you heal, reconnect, and rebuild trust after conflict in your romantic relationships? The Healing Language Study explores how adults from diverse backgrounds experience emotional healing, vulnerability, and relational repair. This confidential survey centers your lived experience and the ways...

Black women...this is for us!

I’m currently conducting a short anonymous survey exploring how Black women understand, express, and navigate their emotional and relational needs.

How did we learn what we’re allowed to need?
Why can it feel difficult to express those needs without guilt or shame?
What happens when we’re waiting for others to show up for us?

This 10–15 minute survey will help inform research and a forthcoming book centered on our lived experiences, not stereotypes, not assumptions, but our actual stories. If you identify as a Black woman and are 18 or older, I would deeply value your voice.

Please feel free to share with other Black women in your networks. The more voices, the more depth, the more truth.

Thank you for being part of this work.

Black women, this is for us. How do we learn our needs, express them without shame, and trust others to show up? Share your experiences in this short anonymous survey and help shape research and a forthcoming book centered on our voices and emotional empowerment.

What did you learn about emotions growing up? Across Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color, many of us were taught, directly or indirectly, how to manage our feelings. Some of us learned to be strong. Some learned to stay quiet. Some learned to protect themselves.

I’m conducting a research study exploring emotional vulnerability, emotional strength, relational safety, intimacy, and the ways our identities shape how we show up in relationships.

If you:
• Are 18 or older
• Identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color (BIPOC)
I’d love for you to participate.

The survey takes about 12–15 minutes. It’s anonymous. You can skip any question.

Your voice matters. This research aims to better understand BIPOC emotional lives in relationships and to inform future writing and resources that more accurately reflect our lived experiences.
If this speaks to you, I invite you to participate below:

This study centers the lived emotional experiences of Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color. Participants are invited to share how culture, gender, relationships, and stereotypes shape emotional expression, vulnerability, and intimacy. Anonymous, voluntary survey for adults 18+.

✨ CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS: BIPOC VOICES NEEDED ✨

How were you taught to handle your emotions?
When did you learn what was “too much,” “not enough,” or “unsafe” to show?

I’m currently conducting a research study focused on emotional vulnerability, emotional safety, intimacy, and relational experiences among Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC).

Many of us learned early how to protect ourselves emotionally because of culture, family expectations, gender roles, racism, or stereotypes. This study centers those lived experiences and asks questions that research often skips.

Topics include:
• Emotional vulnerability & emotional policing
• Relational and sexual safety
• Cultural and gendered expectations
• Stereotypes and how emotions are misread
• What helps (or blocks) softness, honesty, and connection

What participation looks like:
• Anonymous online survey
• ~20 minutes

Who can participate:
✔️ You identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color
✔️ You are 18 or older

Your voice helps shape research, clinical practice, and future writing that actually reflects BIPOC emotional realities—not stereotypes.

Sometimes love doesn’t need to be rebuilt from scratch; it needs to be remembered.

In couples therapy, Annalise helps partners slow down, recognize the patterns that keep them stuck, and begin to find their way back to safety, connection, and trust.

Healing takes courage, honesty, and hope — but it’s possible when both people are ready to do the work, together. 💛

Now accepting new couples and family clients in North Carolina (telehealth available). Has evening and weekend availability.
