My first 10 miles without stopping!!!

It was absolutely brutal- I had a stitch for the first 7 miles at least but it was also beautiful… the north east coastline is just divine😍

So proud of my running progress, which has been anything other than linear- I’ve had some god awful runs and really wondered if I’d be able to do it!

For context this time last year I struggled running the kids great north run (1 mile) with Leo!

So I’m really really proud of this and hopeful that I’ll be good to go on the day…. Can’t believe it’s only 3 weeks away.

I’m way below my target right now so going to be redirecting my running efforts to fundraising for this amazing charity. Women's Aid

🤷🏻‍♀️Mystified by your PMS? Feeling guilty about how it affects your life?

🤯This article is one of the many many reasons why the environment that we find ourselves living is behind increasingly poor health, and therefore difficult menstrual cycles.

🔈 If you’re getting PMS symptoms your body is calling to be listened to.

🤔 But it’s hard to know what to do in response.

⚠️ Products deemed as ‘safe’ (often tested alone, and on men) can have a detrimental affect on our health, but leave us mystified on why we feel bad, then we blame ourselves or our mental health. We’re just not strong or good enough.

❌But it’s not true.

‼️The pesticides, toxins, fast food, chemicals in makeup... even our water, never mind the barrage on our minds and feelings that we have to be constantly productive and achieving to be of value are damaging our livers, guts, minds and then our menstrual cycles.

If we are not able to flush out toxins, our livers become overloaded.

The liver is where oestrogen is metabolised from the 16OH and 4OH forms that can lead to cancerous cells into the safe 2 and water soluable 2OH that can be excreted OUT of the body safely.

👀And what else happens if you can’t because it’s overloaded.

Oestrogen dominance.

Toxins circulating back through the body, getting deeper and deeper into our organs.

Resulting in horrendous PMS and PMDD symptoms.

Fatigue. Pains. Headaches. Mood swings. Rashes... the list goes on.

💁🏽‍♀️What stops a liver from being optimised?

Toxins, poor diet, lack of rest - stress overload....

And then we feel guilty for what we do, how we feel and think.

🧚🏼So what can we do?

💓Limit the toxins, get fresh self care products (like tropic) - or make them yourself, avoid synthetic fragrances - use essential oils, filter water, buy organic, grass fed meat and wild fish, skin brush, avoid plastic- use glass

And make sure you have the 3 magic ingredients for a happy liver

🥗 anti oxidants and nutrients - get your 9 veg and fruit in a day
💦 3-4 litres of filtered water daily
🥩 get your complete set of amino acids daily

And prioritise your well being.

🤯Anxiety, stress and rage can often feel out of our control.

😡Being easy triggered, especially at certain times of the month can seem like something we just have to deal with.

😭And it wrecks every part of our life when unmanaged.

How are you? I mean really 🤔 . How are you? Have you checked in with yourself recently?

💓Sometimes we don’t realise the heavy mental weight we are carrying until we have the right space and support to release it and transform it into strength.

⭕️ Last night’s circle was truly amazing as always and here’s one of many messages I received after.

🤷🏻‍♀️ Why is this so important and how related to hormones?

Cortisol is one of the 2
most DISRUPTIVE
hormones on our menstrual cycles, overall health and happiness.

Whilst tier one insulin is a relatively quick fix, cortisol management means doing the inner work is which takes longer, lots more practice but is one you can be most proud of and once you have the tools mastered- long lasting.

💫Small changes make a big difference 💫

Healthier switches with my Pancakes - made with organic flour (no gut destroying glyphosate), organic flaxseed (amazing for hormone and mood regulation with high protein and nutrients zinc & magnesium), organic milk and organic decaf coffee (caffeine is a huge deregulator messing with tier one stress hormone cortisol)

It’s more expensive for organic but I save from never buying alcohol anymore.

The melted chocolate eggs.... mmm not so much but it’s not about being perfect, being told what to do.... It’s finding our body’s balance and making our own informed choices from a place of love for ourselves and respect for our bodies!
