Making Waves Making Waves is a disability service that was co-founded by two girls who share a love of the beach and making a difference in the lives of others!

Offering school holiday day support activities and respite weekend services. We saw a need for the beautiful people of this world with amazing abilities to have a service that is person centred and has been tailored to suit individual needs. Making Waves is creating ways to give individuals the supportive environment to grow their independence by learning valuable life skills, promoting self-growt

h and gaining lifelong friendships along the journey. Through capacity building, social and community access Making Waves is able to provide school holiday programs and weekend respite services that are tailored packages to support the individual.

Thank you to all the wonderful participants who made the past few days an absolute blast 🤩 We hope you enjoyed it as much as us! 🐠 We (Laura & Makayla) even braved a roller-coaster 😅

Happy Easter and start to the Holidays! 🐰🥕

Week 2 of school holidays brings the start to our day programs 🐬 🌿 Groups will be a maximum of 6 participants with a 1:3 ratio with two very experienced, bubbly and energetic female Support Workers. Please note activities are subject to change due to any Covid 19 regulation changes.

Tuesday 13.04 - An adventure aimed at older children & teens to the QLD Science Centre and a session in the Spark Lab! 💫💥 pending on the group we may experience taking the bus to and from the centre.

Wednesday 14.04 - All ages- A day exploring the world of Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary 🐨 filled with animal demonstrations and learning activities. (Entry included).

Thursday 15.04 - All ages- Seaworld!! 🐋🐠 because who doesn't love penguins and dolphins?! From watching the Polar Bears swimming to patting (safe) sting rays, there's always something to love. (Entry included).

*Please send us a private message for further information on each activity and suitability. Logistics and transfers will be confirmed later in the week as we fill spots. Both Makayla and Laura are happy to provide a 'meet and greet' beforehand with participants to determine suitability.

Hello and welcome to Making Waves!!

We are a Disability Support Service cofounded by Laura Heseltine and Makayla Parry.
We are two ladies who's passion lies in creating ways for people with all abilities to experience adventures and to have fun, whilst reaching goals and building life long friendships. With over 9 years combined experience working with children, teens and adults with disabilities, we have branched out into creating exciting programs offering:
- School holidays day programs aimed at children and teens.
- Weekend overnight respite 'mini getaways'.
- Friday and Saturday evening activities aimed at older teens and young adults to build friendships and develop social skills.
