Streptococci

Streptococci I'm a micro size string of beads you don't want to wear out to your next event. Some know me as a flesh eater.

11/03/2022

I am not incredibly picky. I like to live in the throat, on the skin or even in the intestines. Sometimes my host doesn't even know I am around as they may not become ill.

"About me" I spread easily and quick through droplets when someone with the infection coughs or sneezes, or through shared food or drinks. I create all kinds of issues in people such as:
*Strep Throat.
*Scarlet Fever.
*Impetigo.
*Necrotizing Fasciitis.
*Cellulitis.
*Streptococcal Toxic Shock Syndrome.
*Rheumatic Fever.
*Post-Streptococcal Glomerulonephritis.
FUN RIGHT!?!
I can can survive and persist within the host by circumventing the host defense mechanisms.

When I find a host I really like to stay with them so getting rid of me comes with some challenges.. Antibiotics can do the trick. I tend to stay highly contagious if not treated, looking eagerly for my next victim, I mean friend.
